Anyone clarify what the differences are? I have read that one has an integrated RF module perhaps but not sure what difference this makes.

I may be about to pull the pin on one but want to make sure I have all the right gen before making any decision as to wether to go in this direction or not.

Looks like it's the next generation on from the 12x but with more features, much cheaper and only 1 less channel.

I've just bought one Rob! The 'new' price for the DSX11 is excellent! Can't find any info on the differences between the DSX11 and the 11X Zero though - be interesting to see what mods McGregor made... And also what support/upgrade routes they will offer. Apart from the integrated RF module on the DSX11, from what I see on videos about the 11X, 'My List' ( a customised function list) is customisable for each model, but on my DSX11, 'My List' is the same for all models. Only difference I can pick up so far. It fits in the hands very well for a finger & thumb (or nipple tweaker...) flyer like me, and probably even better for a thumb flyer - I really like the ergonomics and balance of it, and the looks are ok too! It's DSM2, which despite being not truly frequency hopping is tried and tested and works with all the Spektrum and BnF stuff, but the high end DSM2 receivers are getting expensive now.

Thanks Pat, I did a little digging on the Horizon site and it looks like it can be upgraded to DSMX.

The only difference is one is modular and the other is integrated.

Even with the modular 11x you get all of the DSM2 features such as model match.

Both will be up-datable to DMSS in the future.

Neither is up-datable to DSMX as this is owned by Horizon Hobbies and NOT JR Propo.

I assume that in order to upgrade from DSM2 to DSMX I would need to purchase the Tx from Horizon?

The difference is that DSMX now selects 24 channels and hops between them rather than just the two is as much as I know.

Reading all of the bumth on it however it was only really designed for instances where there were hundreds of radios powered up at the same time such as Joe Nall.

You could get it from Horizon but it would not be legal to use in the EU......

Ok, thanks again, do you know the DSMX/DMSS differences?

I assume I could buy an EU spec Tx and ask Horizon to upgrade to DSMX? It's just that this seems nearer to the Weatronics system that I have been using for a while.

Yes Pat, the more I look at it the more it appeals, just want to make sure I get the right thing. One thing I can't get my head round is what you get extra on the 12x other than 1 more channel for around double the price?

Humm, I guess you could but I think thats it more than a software update for this so I'd assume they would need to change the RF section of the radio as well so the certification that it has will not cover it for Europe. Having said that even if it was just software DSMX versions of the 11x will not have been certified anyway so it would still not be covered.

The 12x is a whole different kettle of fish in terms of feel in the hands, quality and also what it is capable of doing in terms of programming flexibility. The 11x can do most things so it does depend on what sort of models you are flying.

Have you been able to pick both sets up? Different sets suite different people.

The Current JR DSM2 compatible radios will work with any DSM2 or DSMX rx so yes you can use Spektrum.

DMSS radios will only work with DMSS rx's but my understanding is that the DSX11 conversion will make the radio into a modular set so you will then be able to use whatever modual you like and therefore you will be able to swap as you need to.
