Default ****Jet for a P-60****????

Hi all,

I'm looking for a new project for a P-60. I can't find much in the way of kits/ARF's for this size engine.

What I'm looking for is something like a BVM Maverick, Internal engine, tailpipe, molded fuz and built up wings/foam core.
I had high hopes for Ali's Mack 1, but it seems this might not go into production [&o]
I like the look of the C-ARF Spark, but is it to heavy with a P-60?

NO TWIN BOOMS!!!!!!!! I've been there and done that.

If anyone knows of kits suitable for this engine can you please let me know? There has to be allot of P-60's out there that need a good home!

I have searched RCU but did not come up with much.

Thanks,
Paul.

How about:

We would like to introduce the new Hurricane Sport Jet. It is made for any turbine 12lb-18lb ( King Tech K80, Jet Cat P60 ). It has a 60 inch wing span and a 67 inch fuselage. Wing Area is 961 sq in. and flying weight is 15lb. with out fuel ready to fly. The fuselage is Fiberglass with carbon fiber reinforcements and the wings are built up glassed and painted. The ARF kit will include our Spring Air Red Jet series retracts, dual walled exhaust pipe and composite fuel tanks and extensive hardware package, we do not have a firm price yet but it will be under $1000. We have also made custom trailing link struts for this airplane that is great for grass operation.

The fuselage is two pieces so the box will be fairly small for world wide shipping. We are expecting delivery late Sept. early October. At this time we are only making the below paint scheme and in primer. The factory prototype had a top speed of 200MPH and slowed down to 20 mph for landing. We used a King Tech K80F and our struts wheels and brakes. I got the chance to fly it last week and it tracks like an arrow at all speeds.

I have looked at the Electra, But I'm a bit concerned. I have a BVM Bandit Mk 1, It’s a great model but a pain to assemble at the field.

I just would like it to be simple to assemble and fun to fly.......is this to much to ask??

Cheers,
Paul

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure that the Electra's wings are fairly easy to fit and remove. It might be worth the question before dismissing it.

Tam's A-4 Skyhawk.
Tam's A-4 will fly with the P60 with the RPM turned up, but it's not by any means the ideal airframe for it, takes a few laps to get up to speed with the P60 and you have to be very conservative with maintaining momentum.

Turbinator. Highly modded (bashed) of course, to look like a 1950's era jet. I know it doesn't have a tail pipe but the wing area and weight will really take advantage of the P-60's thrust level and you'll have a nice flying, pattern type jet that is dead simple and easy to fly in all sorts of conditions and fields.

I know it's not a turbine.
I have a Spark with 12s 5000mah. It's not a light model but weight is not an issue for this bird (haven't weighed it). It has really nice stall characteristics, nothing nasty
And it is very quick to boot.

slightly off topic, but how do you go about upping the rpm on the jetcat p-60?

If you want something that fits into your car in one piece, fly great, is easy to live with and is different, try one of these. http://www.rl-comp.com/#/ef-typhoon/4534930008
