Scotty,
I don't know how much you have done on the CARF Mig-15 build, but you're going to find it a real challenge. Absolutely nothing fits. You are going to have to re-engineer almost everything. If you have the patience you will end up with a great flying airplane, but it's a real chore getting to that point. Good luck! You're going to need it..

Gary- Yes they FINALLY have the mount centerline and better yet it is out of heavy stock with large bosses for the bolts to thread into.
John, yes I pretty much had to rebuild every place where two parts came together. The list of mods is really to long to go into. Probably 10 hrs alone into each landing gear, changed the ailerons from that insane geometry to a 90deg mount with true center line piano wire hing (removable from inside the flap), three piece hatch etc, etc, etc.
WIth the 100 in the arse i expect it to be many pounds lighter than most 15s when all is said and done. Am sure it will fly sweet. Scotty

Thanks for that Scotty, I wondered if the efficient Germans had finally done something sensible!

Good luck with the build,
Gary.

I've been looking at one of these that has been for sale in the RCU Marketplace. The ad is here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemID=783066

I'm considering finding a new 'home' for a P-120 that's currently in a SM L-39 (and then sell the L-39), and this -15 is set up for a P-120. Anyone have any 'words of wisdom' about this jet? How does it fly? Possible trouble areas? Etc.

Thanks in advance.

Sluggo

Sluggo, that's a sweet jet. I owned it for a time prior to Jason. Jason Bauer (SeaLance) who is selling it is a quality guy who takes care of his stuff. He loves that plane but needs to start a BVM F4 build for next WJM and this Mig 15 is his ticket to purchasing the BVM kit.

A great person to talk to about the CARF Mig 15's is "Vincent" on RCU who lives in Az and has owned at LEAST 2 of them.
Cheers,
Shaz
