The airport is under Vinnu waterfall, the tallest waterfall in Europe and the sixth tallest in the world. The rc club has two hangars dedicated to rc planes.
Since we were flying in a narrow valley, it will be much vertical movement.

Yes also,
I like mine a lot. It never feels that its going to bite you and flies rock steady all the way. ( with a little help from a Demon in my case )
If it can survive this then it says lots about the design and build of the C.A.R.F version. Mine has the 180 Rx

Have you done any modifications on the wires to the Cortex Demon? I'm a little worried about using only two leads with power to it.

Hi
Yes I have followed G White in supplying current to the servos via pos-neg then detaching the signal from the plug and connecting that in a separate plug into the Cortex.
This way the Cortex only supplies a signal and power comes direct from the Power box plug. In my case a competition SRS or on my second Viper a Royal.
I briefly talked to Demon at Jetpower and they said they were considering this for the future as well.

Is there a reason why everybody moves the thrust tube so far backwards that it sits flush with the fiberglass tailcone? Wouldn't it be advised to move the turbine and thrust tube closer to the tank and slightly cut the fiberglass tailcone instead of adding useless nose weight?

My pipe is mounted such that the pipe is about 1/2 inch inside the tail cone. Have the cone coated with some BVM heat shield on the inside but nave never noticed any heating of the cone. Power is from a Rhino. I also have my smoke tube coming out back of pipe.

I am installing a pretty short turbine (Merlin 200) and if I move the thrust tube & turbine all the way forward so that the starter motor almost touches the back side of the tank, the thrust tube ends about 45mm (1 ¾ inches) inside the tail cone. My idea was to cut the tail cone slightly. This would move the CG further forward so that I would not need any nose weight.

My tube is also mounted with about 3/4 inch inside, no problem with. Think you may cut 1 inch with no problem, Nevertheless I have more than 1 lbs of lead in my nose, but this is no problem for the Viper.

Didn't need any lead in the front for my Viper. Have my flight packs plus ECU and Electric gear batteries up front. Had plenty of room so just went with larger batteries for ECU and Gear and balance worked out just fine. Plane has full smoke setup and weights 36 lbs dry (with full UAT).

For the last month and half i been building my new Viper and this is some of the pictures of my building and I just finish last night the inside all i got left is install 2 servos Rudder and 1 aileron and finish the main gear door also i got a set of unilights i will be installing

Do you know where the balance is yet? Nose weight wise...
When you put it together please check the wheel/tyre clearance on both the fuselage and wing cut out, I've seen people miss this and have the main gear hang up as its jammed up.
It does not look like you sealed the woodwork at all before installation started? Smoke system and fuel you will end up with some oil in the fuselage at some time, untreated wood is like a sponge! Just a coat of finishing resin would have been enough.
Otherwise great job, neat builder.

Cool Beans!! I am looking forward to seeing more nice jets at CC. If you need to look at anything on mine, please ask, or any advice. I posted a lot of pictures earlier in this post to help. It is a fun and easy jet to fly.
With a 200, it should be pretty fast and unlimited vertical!! Are you adding an extra fuel tank? You have seen me dead stick mine, due to flying too long. I now have my timer to 6.5 minutes.

As a matter of interest mine now balances at the rear of the main spar. Had 70 odd flights like this and its better for me than the other 60 at the front of the spar.
180 Rx with one 3 cell lipo half way up the side of the nose bay and two 5400 lipo's for Rx in front and as far forward of the nose wheel tire as possible. Lots of weight but it matters not to this plane it flies great and tracks like a train.
I also fly with one of the best UK fliers who also has this balance point. It has not let him down either.

Below are a few pics of my build progress so far. I hope these might be helpful to others building the same plane.
The wings are done, I chose to go with the Behotec electric gear & brakes. Installation was pretty easy and straight forward. Stabs and rudder are also done, I am using Savox SV 1270 TG on all flying surfaces.
The Robart hinges for the front gear door are in, I also glued in an additional bulkhead in the front to hold the servo that actuates the gear door.
For the tank I chose to go with the bigger one from the large Hawk, I am pretty sure that my Merlin 200 will need the extra fuel capacity. I also glued a tray on top of the main tank to accomodate the smoke tank, which is actually a Flash wing tank.
The back of the plane is also completely wired & plumbed, the turbine and smoke tubes are installed. I moved the turbine as far forward as possible to save a little nose weight, this change required to shorten the exhaust nozzle a little.
