Great looking build. You will love the Behotec electric gear. Be careful and play with the power settings on the brakes. They are very strong and you can flat spot a wheel if you are not careful. My smoke tank is also a flash wing tank and mounted the same as yours Works great.

The hinges are already done as you can see in the pictures above, I also took a picture of the extra former I glued in for the nose gear door servo. The nose gear door itself will be one of my next tasks, I will upload pictures soon. But I can already say that I will beef up the door with small formers, otherwise it will most likely deform under air pressure.

Got a little more done today. Fabricated a tray to cover the nose section of the plane. Underneath that tray I'll hide the receiver batteries, the smoke pump and a bunch of ugly wires.

I start working with installing light system in my Carf Viper im using Unilights and they are coming together very nice also doing the seats and interior here some pictures now im in the point about balance been reading about this in the tread some they say front of wing tube others in the back of the wing tube

Hey vquick are you using the Jeti pitot tube in this viper and if so how were did you install it? do you have pictures showing the install and placement? Thanks

What i did is drill a 1/8 hole in front of the nose then with a small round file file the angle so i can insert a 1/8 piece of brass tube and will be parallel in relation to the plane this piece i will tack with ca and them from the inside i will put some epoxy after epoxy cure insert the pitot tube and hold in place with a drop of med.Ca also i put a piece of shrink tube over like in this picture this is the same method I install in my BAE Hawk

Awesome! Thanks vquick. that really helps me out. I was looking to go straight into the nose as on the full size just have to figure out how to get down in the little area in the nose haha. I think I can with a supper long brush. It going to be a bit before I get to it but its on my to do list. I will post a picture one I get it done.

Missed this! Its a smoother more accurate Hawk. The Viper has a huge tailplane so its very stable in pitch. Its a chunky, non ducted airframe so it does not hold energy as much as say an UF or UL, but its a great constant speed bird. Its going to be the big thing in the UK this year, there are at least 3 more being built now.

I have just had this scheme done for a friend...we love it!

Nice scheme and thanks for the feedback. I'm looking for a constant speed aircraft, so glad to hear the Viper fitting that description. I placed an order for the blue/white stripe scheme.

Can someone tell me where the balance point should be (with or without the wings on). I have a very early kit that did not come with the wood piece used to the check balance point.

The wood will point to front of wing tube but some other people have in back of wing tube at this moment i have balance in mid of tube im planning to test flight this next saturday Weather permit

here some pictures how i did mine I install a piece of aluminium hold by the steering servo 2 piece of balsa on side so will not move sideways and a piece of light ply glue in the front were the plastic slide inn when i put that in holds with a 6-32 screw

Yes. Behotec electric gear, struts and brakes. C50 with trailing link struts. Wheels and brakes to match the struts. They work perfect. Probably some more information throughout this thread.

I have the Airtech-Germany made gear that CARF sells. So, to better refine my question, does anybody know of a set of electric brakes that will work with the size wheel supplied by CARF?
