Checked the logs on the old girl, 97 with ducted fan (BVM 91's), 219 with the Wren 54 MkIII. A Wren 100 kero start is now installed, but not yet flown. First flight D/F 1995, first flight turbine 2007. Empty wt. 20 1/2 pounds, custom fuel tanks for 68 oz. of fuel, two saddles in old location plus 24 oz. between modified intakes.

OK Pete, here we go.
This is my Classic Balsa Bandit. Kit was purchased by a fellow Kiwi in NZ in the late nineties. It started out life as as an internal combustion ducted fan Bandit. The original owner built it to finishing stage, but then ran out of enthusiasm. It sat on a shelf for nearly a decade.
I bought it is 2005, and rebuilt it as Turbine Bandit with new inlets, cowls and additional strengthening. We maidened it in 2006, so it has been flying for 5 years. I moved to Australia in 2007 where it now resides and has over 100 sorties.
It was powered by a PST 600 and carries 1 lt of smoke fluid. The PST pushes it along just fine, it's a little slow to get on the step, but once away, it performs great. I say "was" powered, as it needs a new engine. I'm thinking a Merlin VT 80...
I've included the pic of this original BVM Viper and BVM F-86. These belong to a Kiwi friend of mine. They are both still flying (although not often), using 91R engines. The F-86 is, I think, 12 years old. But the Viper is well over 20!!! The Viper is still in original paint, still immaculate, has hundreds of flights on it, and out preforms most of the turbines... These were fantastic airplanes.

RE: Show and Tell
This is the original PCM DV8R. It is kit serial #1 (the prototype is the first one). I fly it most Sundays in Stuart, Fl since 2004. Over 600 flights on the same p-120. This picture was taken last Sunday by a friend visiting from the UK.

My trusty Lightning. Almost 400 flights on it now and I still love it like the first time I flew it.
Truly a great jet.

Has a Stu Max 110-52 which gives off a great jet like sound, 170 mph, unlimited vertical
I fly it on cheap hobby king packs on 11s 35c 5000 mah pack, Tam Jets retracts, wheels and brakes
Tam Jets Cockpit
I just love the plane, the power system has been flawless

RE: Show and Tell
Well it started off as an F16C from Skymaster . Had to modify tail group to make it an F16A. So that's how it all started. Power is a Jet Cat Titan and radio is all Jr 2.4 ,dual Jr regulators and 7.4v lipo's.And of course all Dan Gills goodies (speed brakes, operation canopy, and lighting) Built during winter of 2009/2010. First flight in early March. First outing was 2010 Top Gun which didn't go well due to fodding turbine with a fancy inlet plug (that I forgot to remove ), and a collision with an antenna out by the runway which I didn't see. Funny thing is it almost tore left wing off (slid two inches out from fuse), ripped left aileron linkage completely off and also entire left stab too. Somehow I manage to fly a complete circuit and landed,. Actually best landing of weekend. lol Got home and repaired fuse/wing and replaced stab. Actually took back and got into top ten at TG in 2011.I have developed and Love/Hate relationship with this jet. So now I just enjoy flying it for fun. So now its just a Free beater jet which has well over 100 flights . Scott

42 flights at Kentucky Jets 2010. It started life as a Skymaster , but it got more and more modified during it's life. Has about 250 flights .
