Default Jetcat P120sx a lot of flames?

Hi guys, I'm relative new to turbines, I have a Kingtech k80 and a 140 that came with a little problem so I send to the factory, but to replace the 140 I bought a Jetcat 120sx and made my first start today.
I was a bit scared, the 120 puted a lot os flmes to startup, my k80 did not put any flames on start, and the p120 when I adavance the throtle put flames again. And the k80 doen't do that.
At first I thouth I have a bad Turbine... "again...!!!", but on the gsu the temps are normal, on idle it was like 540 degrees
I didn't putted in full power.
So I wento see some videos on you tube, and saw that.

Mine look the same, so I'm wondering.
Why this engine is a "flamer"?
Can I ajust something to engine to put less flames?
My engine "the P120" look very red glowing when it's running, and my Kingtech k80 doesn't look like that. Is this normal?

Thanks guys.

If it was the first start wouldn't worry about it to much. Air in the fuel system will make the start like that. You can reduce uaccell2 and that will help the flame on startup. The bright blue flame on throttleup is perfectly normal.

Forgot to mention the tail cone glow is perfectly normal as long as the temps are ok.

All of that is pretty typical of a kero start especially at night. Maybe needs some decreasing on the ramp values but there's not a thing wrong either of those motors. What is wrong is the curious and annoying "revving" of the engine in the 1st vid like it's a motorcycle!

Also, (vid 2) whatever happened to respecting the plane of the turbine wheel? Sheeeesh!

Maybe he wanted to good look at the wheel when it comes apart. That was one of the first instructions given to me when I first got into turbines. Do not stand beside the engine when it is running. I've only seen one come apart once and it was nasty.

Megafly,
I own (2) 120sx motors and those starts are normal. You could knock a click or two off the UA1 and lower that flame a bit but if you have no experience with adjusting the settings then leave it alone. One other note, the up and down bs is not doing the motor any good. On first start up you should run it up to full rpm and let it sustain the (125k) and store the settings. Same thing when it comes back down to idle, after that you are ready to go fly assuming all of the air is purged out.
Other than that the P-120sx is a terrific and powerful motor that will last a long time and be trouble free.

Quist, Yes the p-120 sx does have an internal kero-plug. I own two of them and i have one in a BVM F-100 and it does have a flame at start up that comes out the tail pipe but other than that it has been a great motor for this airplane. When ever i fly it at a show people always think i have a p-160 in the plane because it is just a great performing motor.

I've seen an SX with an external plug. The internal plug failed and the owner had them just fit the external plug so it could be easily replaced if it happened again. It's not usual but could still be an SX with an external plug fitted.

Done that to a P160SX, and it worked perfectly

I think he said these were generic youtube videos that looked the same as his.

The revving thing sure was annoying tho.
