Most of the flight was around 1/2 throttle getting it trimmed out and how it would react to stall. At full throttle required some down elevator. I put in 4 * down elevator from half throttle to full. Looks like it will not get flown again till Spring. I get my first cataract out tomorrow then the other to follow in a couple of weeks. Sure hope it helps in seeing the planes! I am not going any bigger to see them better !! LOL.

Well, its been a while in between posts. Lots of changes at the hosue with the new shop layout for the bigger planes coming. Had to reorganize for another reason as well. That news will follow all good though. I was able to install the first nose block and carve it to shape last night while watrching MNF. Lots of shavings and dust to clean up this morning. Second one tonght. Now the reason for the reorg; with the nose blocks on I can't stand them on end and need to store them on tables or stands but we knew that all along. Mine also got the tank floor reinforced with cross spars for the 186oz tank since that will be about 9 lbs of fuel sitting on it static. Pictures to follow tonight.
Now for the news!
Jim Klapp (AKA JetDKTR), our buddy Pete Stone, and myself are taking over GPA Hobbies in Crofton MD in January. Eric Baugher a dear life long friend as most of you who knew him was a great person, modeler and the owner of the shop until we lost him three years ago to complications of his life long illness. I ran the shop from 1994 to 2002 for him and we were very close like brothers. His wife is ready to retire and offered to sell us the store instead of just closing it. Had we not bought it she may have just closed it this coming spring and she said Eric gave her instructions on what to do should he go first. None of us need the money but it meant saving 4-6 peoples jobs and keeping the last RC shop in the DC, Annapolis, Baltimore triangle open. Our other buddy Harold Thompson is staying with the shop and working during the week for us.
Now for the news!

Gary do you remember where the balance point was on yours mine is just about.ready wanted to get some info before final placement of Batts thanks keith also what turbine you running

Was able to finally get back to work on my plane today. Got the fuse, fin,and stab covered and some markings on thanks to Major Decals. The wife was feeling better until about an hour ago. Her blood sugar shot up to over 300 again. Just sitting here waiting it out now for the evening. Hopefully I can get the wings covered is coming week and get onto your Jimmie so we can send it to Bob to get glassed and painted for you.

Bart, I looked into it back a few months ago. They were 185oz tanks with baffles. I was going to wait until I was closer to order mine. They were about 200$ assembled with shipping from jet- tech

Gary thanks for the thoughts. She has had a really rough last three weeks on top of the last six months. She has had a mini stroke, fell and broke three ribs and has a bad kidney infection. Diabetes is not fun at all and I'm glad I lost all the weight and don't need meds anymore.

Hope to get back into the shop tonight to finish the fuse covering. Jimmie, I'll try to email you the list of retracts and strut numbers along with servo requirements tonight. Janice got hurt yesterday afternoon at home just before i got home for the night and we spent the evening at the urgent care and then the hospital ER getting a CT scan of her head and neck. She fell into the frenchdoors in the master bedroom and has a left blackeye, a 3/8 long deep cut above the eyelid and two lumps on her head from the fall. NOT FUN!

Bart, I got your PM and will answer it tonight. I was just uploading some pictures before leaving for work. I was able to spend some time in the shop last night and got the fuse done other than the nose gear hatch and the leading edge and tips of the stab.

The wife is back in the hospital over the weekend so I was able to spend some time in the shop and get the fuse finished. Hopefully she will be coming home today and then I can get back onto the wings. I lost about an hour last night looking for the control surfaces since I cleaned up the shop I put them into a box sitting so I couldn't see them inside it on my shelves. Never clean your shop and then stop working in it for months. Lol.

Well, the plane is all covered now. I picked up some instruments at the WRAM Show last weekend and they fill out the panel nicely. Got everything hinged tonight as well. Now to install the servos and pushrods. I still need some markings and numbers but they can wait until later.

Spent the evening in the shop again. Got the aileron, and flap servos in both wings. All of the horns except the rudder one on as well. Tomorrow hopefully I will get the elevator and rudder servos installed and the pushrods for everything done since I don't have to deal with three foot long wiring channels again.

Another productive night in the shop yesterday. The pushrods for the elevators and rudders got built and installed along with their servos. Tonight hopefully I can get the nosegear linkage done. Having electric brakes and retracts sure makes that go faster as well so far. I want to test fly this in April so im comfortable at FIF at the end of May.
