Default Futaba 18MZ to 12Z program conversion possible?

Hi All,

Received a program from 18MZ. Want to convert it to work on my 12Z transmitter. On Futaba's website I have downloaded a conversion program that translates 14MZ to 12Z and have used it successfully in the past. Does anybody know if the 18MZ would similarly translate its programs to 12Z using this software?

Thanks to the Futaba Gurus in advance!

Shaz

It should....just make sure the model name is less that 8 characters long or the 12Z will not recognize it.

All my 12Z programs transferred to the 18 w/o issue. You need to look ensure the switch assignments match.....ie, the 14 and the 18 have dual sliders on each side, the 12 has one. If the model is programmed using a slider on the 14/18 that the 12 does not have, it won't function. You'll have to go in and program that channel to the 12's correct slider. Make sense? T5 and T6 trims on the 18 also don't exist on the 12.

Be VERY carful, I tried for a buddy to put on a program from my 18 to his 14, just by copy and paste method from 18 card to 14 card
opps locked up 14 , until we removed the program. All ok with 14 once you removed , what was a 18 program..... also any conversion up from 14 to 18 needs checking , i have found a few discrepancies.

"T5 and T6 trims on the 18 also don't exist on the 12."

Only applies to the 12Z, T5 and T6 trims exist on the 12FG so I assume any function on them will copy across.
