You start with mixing some oilpaint (black, brown and a little white with linseed oil:
This mix is then applied with a cloth on all the surfaces,
Looks a bit scary,
'cause one almost seem to ruin all the beautiful work
After that you wait an hour or two and then start wiping everything off again with a soft cloth; only in the panel lines and rivets some paint will be left,
and then you and up with something like this: before :
After!

Great stuff Phil, my first encounter with the Hunter was as an RAF apprentice. We had a fuselage in the workshops and the instructer calmly walked along its length with an axe nonchalantly taking swipes at the skin. We were devided up into teams of 2 and told to complete a fully documented repair, Happy days. If Dick Spreadbury is following this thread, I have a message mindful of his love for this aircraft................Dick!! will you either spit or swallow. Ron.

Hi dick, thanks for your kind words, Ali has been to my workshop and had a look at her, it's too small for him but he does like it a lot. I feel there might be an airworld hunter coming my way to build for him after all the other projects I've got to do for him. I have to build four wing fuel tanks to finish off, hunters don't look right without fuel tanks, I hope to bring her along to one or two of 2012 classic jets

People have asked me what the quality of the MR Hunter is like, I think the Kit was really good, everything fitted and the wood quality was excellent. The fibre glass fuse was very good, no pin holes, a few issues with the seam nothing a little bit of filler wouldn't take care of. I recently build the MR venom, now the fuse of that was terrible, so many pin holes.
I purchased the fuel tanks from MR and when they arrived i decided to change them. The old saying is 'Its not what you know but who you know' well one of my friends is a Prototype builder and has access to CNC machines, with me being a designer i decided to design two fuel tanks, one being the standard 100gal fuel tank and the second being the very large 225gal tank. I gave him the tank profiles and three days later the moulds where dropped off. He had machined them out of MDF and after a couple of coats of sealer and primer then end result is perfect.
I have also been asked about the radio equipment install so i have also added a couple of photo's of that.

Why there aren't kits of all sizes for the Hunter is beyond me. Easily the prettiest lines on a jet fighter EVER.

Ripmax was supposed to be coming out with an ARF version based off the MRM kit, but I've heard very little on that topic in quite some time, sadly.
