JR Radio Repair
I have a JR 12x tx that needs some minor repair work. I see on the Horizon web site that they no longer do JR repairs and that it can be and should be sent to JR of the Americas for repair. The JR of the Americas web site says they will only repair items purchased for an authorized seller. I purchased this particular TX from my local hobby shop many many years ago. There is a form to fill out when sending in items for repair and one of the questions is the date of purchase. I have no clue when it was. Probably about 12 to 15 years ago. I don't even know when the 12x was first avail for sale. I find this policy to be moronic. I would prefer to send it to some one else for repair if there is an independent repair center that can work on it.
Does anyone know of other repair centers that can work on JR ? My problem is pretty simple, triple rate switch inop in one position. Might just need a new switch. Is Radio South still around ?
Edited by poster : I did find a web site for Radio South. I will probably send it there absent a better suggestion.

Just send it to JRA-You don't need to fill out any fancy forms- I just got my 12x back from them (switch repair). I just wrote down my name and address on scratch paper, with a message to please repair the switch. Received it back yesterday very promptly, and the total with shipping was only about 40 bucks. They checked the RF and did a full test while it was in. Very happy with their service-why look any further ? Just my opinion.

PS when they say authorized reseller, they just mean purchased in the US, and not from over seas somewhere.

I spoke with Tony about a month ago about servicing a JR 12X. He informed me that there are no parts for serving the JR Radios. Same on the JR Americas Site, that service is no longer available.
I know this is not what some of us JR users wanted to here. I guess it just may be time to upgrade.
