Which large F-15 is best?
I want to get a large F-15 and only know of two companies who make them, Fly Eagle and Fei Bao. Which one is "better"? Structurally, gear, detail - everything. Are there any other companies building these? Those who own one or the other, your input would be greatly appreciated.

If you do a search on RCU you'll find unhappy FEJ and Fei Bao F-15 owners. Seems as though both planes are/were plagued with gear problems. Older generation FEJ F-15s were very heavy, not sure if that has been addressed.

Yes, before, FEJ F15 1/7 model was heavy, but not anymore. As you know we produced models with honeycomb material now. It reduces a lot of weight.
Such as our J10 1/4.85 scale. It is 122 inches long and it weights 11.5kg weight for 3D version. Check information on website http://www.flyeaglejet.com/en/J103D.5.html
On the other hand, both Fei bao or FEJ F15E are not a new model. All bugs have been fixed already. They are many customers are happy with Fei bao F15E or FEJ F15E too.

Hey James, I talked to you on the phone. I checked out the Jet Legend, how cool is it that the intakes actually move on that one? I would really like to see some up close pictures of all the manufacturers product. I know Andy Kane flys a FEJ and Lukey and the general fly FB jets. I have seen the FB, but not the FEJ.

Andy Kane's FEJ F-15 was up for sale recently. Maybe you can buy his RTF if it hasn't sold.

rbean2,
have you seen my FEJ F-15 advanced? It's hanging in GPA Hobbies in Crofton MD. RTF less turbin & radio, plumbed wired and all servos installed. Stop in and have the guys pull it down for you. Make me a resonable offer and it's yours.

I have seen the fej large f15 in person and the detail/options u can get have made it one of my next buys. I have personal experience with the new material and it does save a ton of weight. Plus if u saw my first landing you would understand how strong it is with carbon. The large f15 and large F14 are my future projects. I have seen the fb in person, which is nice and flies well but I think the fej has more detail..
Both are great and both fly great so it comes down to cost and personal choice.

Richard,
Don't forget about Yellow's F-15 or Avonds.

Fender, what additional scale detail does the FEJ model have over the FB F-15? With the new material, electric landing gear (from Down and Locked), and lighter weight, the FEJ F-15 looks very attractive.

RE: Which large F-15 is best?
Fej looked to me to have antenna and pylons on the fuselage. That could just be the fb owner opted not to install. Yes even though nothing is wrong with the air retracts, the electric to me is a no brainer.

RE: Which large F-15 is best?
David, how has the plane been holding up? Any issues with the airframe?
The FB F-15 also comes with bombs/missiles, operating canopy, and speed brake.

I guess the OP should quantify what he considers a large F-15 to be. The yellow is 84'' in length.

RE: Which large F-15 is best?
hey dubd,
My plane has been sitting on the shelf ready to go for nearly 18 months. Unfortunately, I tend to move from one project to the next, so no flight info to share. There is a guy in Georgia (Bob 309) that has the same plane. I believe he has quite a few flights on his. Perhaps he might be willing to share his opinion.

The Philip Avonds F-15 C is one of the best flying modell airplanes I have ever had. And the original McDonald- Douglas F-15 is a true work of art. I would love to have a 1:7 scale version out of the hands of Philip Avonds but I guess it would never happen. Pity though!
