Best jet for mw44 gold
Hi,
Any suggestions for a wren mw44 gold? Even a turbine glider is ok, if there is a good match available for the 44gold.
thanks

A friend is a real fan of the Wren 44 including two helicopters.
He has built: Bobcat 50 (which I now own), Savex L-39, Savex F-16, Falcon 120,
Bolly Scorpion, Five Jet, Colchester Models (I think) A-4 Skyhawk.
He is currently building a Airworld (I think) ME 262 & has a DF Skyburner waiting for
an MW 44 conversion. - John.

RE: Best jet for mw44 gold
I have made the Savex L39 and Savex F-16, Bobcat 50, Colchester Models Skyhawk A4 and AMD Hawk and they all flew well. The best flying ones are the Savex L39, Bobcat 50 and the Colchester models AMD Hawk. I also had the JHH Cougar, and A7 but did not get on so well with them.
As always a nice light airframe helps and they all fly best if the weight is kept 8-9 lbs dry. The good thing is that they are cheap airframes. There is lots of video on Youtube of the Savex L39 which is superb little plane.

I'm in the same boat, looking for a home for my Wren 44 Gold, and nothing really floats my boat at all. Mine is currently in a Comp ARF Spark but its not a relaxing model to fly so I am thinking of retiring it early.
Other models available include the YA Stingray and, possibly, the BVM Electra. There's also the RL Composites Eurofighter but it's not cheap and there aren't many reviews of it yet.
I'm thinking of selling my engine as the sort of airframes that are available aren't the ones I want to fly. I'm tempted with another Savex L39 as I loved mine with a very old 7lb green Wren 44 but might think about trying the next one with a P20.

I'm currently getting stuff together to put a 44 in a CMP T-45. In the USA... NitroPlanes was running a sale on them, and then I had a discount code... so I got it shipped to my door for $140.
From what I've been seeing... any fiberglass 90 ~ 100mm EDF model will work.

I currently have it on a boomerang nano. I have had enough of that plane. Earlier I had this engine on a grumania f100 super sabre. We flew it once, and I found it too hot to handle. My skills since then have improved... and I am thinking whether I should put it back in the grumania f100...

The SU27 has a very nice display site in my hobby room now, but the servos, valves, tanks and
retracts are still installed, so whenever I want to take her out for a fast flight, it's gonna take me
about 2 hours to get her ready!! I am dying to get the Euro in the air, though!!

Hi Tony
A Typhoon kit would be $850 delivered to the states.

Chris
Thanks for the response, but just converting the price on the web site makes it almost $1000 USD, since the pound is = to $1.55 right now. Then I was assuming about $300 to ship it. (because of size) Sorry if I assumed too much.

Hi Tony
Sorry my mistake (1 glass of wine to many)
At 1.55 exchange rate the kit price shipped should be $1160 shipped.
Sorry to cause any confusion.

He said that when he ordered his two airframes he requested a 'light' layup of the glass.
The first one was test flown at this year's Temora Jets meeting & it flew fine. The only problem he had was fuel consumption, he was only carrying 500 ml which was enough for a Multiplex Twinjet but the L-39 needs more thrust to fly so it was dry in about 4 mins. - John.
