The Sheliak was indeed the 'original' Gryphon, however the whole jet has seen a major update in the way its constructed and the materials involved - the result is the Gryphon is much lighter and stiffer with a smooth painted outside the mould finish.
I believe Christophe Roux-Paysant was originally involved in the design/consultations.

Dear All,
no, the Gryphon isn't a Christophe Paysant Le Roux design, It's a Redwings project.
Thanks

At last a sports model with a British scheme instead of that awful hard to see against a British sky US grey navy scheme.

Do we have any update for the gryphon?
I heard that the fuselage now comes in two pieces to reduse shipping cost..any more upgrades?
I am really close to pull the trigger, so any comments and information would be very helpful.

Hi, yes correct the Gryphon has been 'modified' so the fuselage can be split in two parts - this makes shipping more economical and makes the jet more attractive to those with restricted space to carry jets in vehicles.
The split is just behind the wing trailing edge, like the F100 from BVM, attached are a few pre-production pictures to show the split section.....
The modification has resulted in a small delay in production. I was hoping to get one of two I have on order to take to Jetpower built ready to fly but this delay will leave me very little time, so there will be kits at the show but not one flying from my stable although one of the German dealers will have a single piece fuselage version flying.
It is a superbly made kit.

Yes due on my stand at Jetpower this year, not fitted to a Gryphon as I don't think I will get my two show kits in time to build one but they will be on the Orion which we hope to fly and a test set on the stand too.

Yes 'sport' is one word to call it, Ali after he has flown it will add some other comments and possibly a class to it but currently its a Hawk/MB339 cross from comments received back in terms of looks.

RE: GRYPHON - build thread (sports/trainer 2m composite jet)
Bought a Gryphon & it arrived last week. My fuzz was all one molding. The fuel tank is no longer kevlar, it is glassfibre, but now larger & holds 3 litres. The thrust tube is lighter at 415 grams.
It is going together quite quickly. Rather than fit the stab servos on the stab face, I made up wood mounts glued inside the stab. The servos are now inside the stab, with the servo bottom flush with the inside face of the stab. This makes the servo linkage in a better position for the elevator.
