Default HT modellbau Vampire P-20SX

Busy day today at PMFC in England, Mark Brown brought his HT Vampire/P-20SX for me to test and set up, the first flight showed a reluctance to land at idle thrust and big trim changes.
Lots of rain meant an un-cut strip, but trailing link legs on Eflite 15-25 gear coped fine...even if it sat a bit low!
We added some CROW to get the Vampire to sit nose high on approach and even in near flat calm conditions it slowed up enough to land on our 90m/270' strip
Thanks to little Stevie for driving my camera

Nice little plane, I've heard that it does tend to glide on a bit.

Two of the guys in our club fly these with p20's also and have put over 30 hours on them . They fly without undercarriage simply sliding off the grass to take off and as you say they are a bit slippery on landing so they cut the motor half a circuit out ,as the Vamp flies so well a dead stick approach poses no real problems.

Just to say that one of the Vampires in our club has just completed 200 flights (they use them for synchro pair practice) and has had a motor service in there a few hours ago. Dave, how much crow did you put in? only we have been playing with that but had limited success.

6mm, but the U/C and nose door adds a load of drag too, clean I think you are not going to gain much, the nose high sit with the wheel openings and dangly bits probably adds a lot of drag.
