How attach gear door to mains strut?

Going to make some gear doors out of FR4 sheet for my 1.9m Futura. What are the options for attaching them to the Digitech pro-lynx trailing link struts? Any help appreciated.

RE: How attach gear door to mains strut?

    Dominic,

I'm sure someone with more experience will chime in, but I've had good success with drillling into the strtut, tapping it ffr 4-40 andd then drilling matching holes in the door. I then stick the bolt\washer through the door, then a 1\4" piece off fuel tubing, then into the gear leg. The tubbing allows he door to float just a touch. It works quite nicely. I hope this helps

Dave's method works well, I plan on using it on my Ultra Flash conversion wing.

Dave, I drilled and tapped my Ultra Flash struts also. It looks better and it is easier then mounting the filler cups under the strut. But mine are hard mounted.

I added a filler block of wood that I tached to the strut. I sanded this down to give my cover a flush fit when retracted. Then I glued down the cover to the filler block, drilled and tapped all together.
