It seems like we have been airing forever, but at last the new P20 Sx's have just come through the door!

My first generation P20 has a definite pulse to it without the 1.1M of fuel tubing, perhaps they have smoothed out the pump delivery.
If they have upgraded the pump I wonder if it can take a three cell LiFe? as I have been reliably informed the originals can't take the extra voltage.

I know the ECU can take the voltage, but I have been told its the pump that can't, this is on one of the original P20's, probably about the 50th out of Gemany, it would be nice to get rid of the two cell LiPo, but again I don't want to try it and risk the pump, anyone else feeling brave. LOL

I too have run two of my P-20s without the extra length of tube without issues. The other two have had the long tube fitted. All ran the same, but I have heard of others who had not so smooth running on short tube set ups and when the tubing was increased to jet cat recommendations things smoother right out. It's not a great hardship to fit the extra tubing so I suggest following manufacturers suggestions and run the extra tubing as advised.
The instructions on the P20 Sx's have been modified to state that they are for the SX version ( Not just the same P20 Se instructions) and they still state to run with 110 cm of tubing
There is also an amendment very clearing stating to only run with a 2 cell Lipo ( See pic)
Yes Vin. The 20 Sx does still have the same double solenoid block.

I spoke to Bob Wilcox before i bought my P20 and he said it was ok to run the 3cell 123 pack. The pump is not going to get any more voltage with lipo or 123?? the ecu regulates the pump voltage no matter what size pack is installed?? The problem has always been whether the jc ecu can handle the higher 123 voltage, i dont know where you heard this pump voltage info but its not a problem. I have hundreds of kero starts with 3 cell 123 batts on my P20`s.

As siclick said the problem is the bus system installed in the pump which I have been told can not take over 10volts if I remember correctly, as with the version 6.0 ECU's some got away with using a three cell A123 on them others had a burn out either immediately or shortly after using the extra voltage, US fix was a heat sink, JetCat fix was a complete new mother board with a different FET installed, I too will not take the chance of burning out the pump unless told otherwise by the manufacturer.
My original enquiry was if the new P20SX version had an updated pump that would allow three cell A123's to be used?

The P-20se is definately 123 ready and i have several hundred kero starts on two motors with no issues. I contacted bob Wilcox about this "warning" letter in the P20sx motors. His is unaware of any changes to the ecu but suspects the change is due to internal kero start. Jetcat is closed until Jan 9th. Bob will not get me a definate answer until then.
