On the water thing.... As long as electronics aren't under power, and the water is relatively clean... You would be surprised on what can dry out and still work good as normal.

A real good way to dry things out is to put it in a container of rice (submerged in dry uncooked rice) and it will leech all the moisture out of the device.

I usually do that after I clean my TX in the top shelf of the dishwasher.

You could tie it to the car roof rack when going through the car wash

I use a shaving brush for the dust and a soft dry cloth to wipe it down. It stays in a case when not in use. Personally i would never spray any thing on my transmitter.

I hit mine with a fire hose. The high pressure water gets all the dust off.

Mine never gets dirty. I keep it in the case. I guess one could use that compressed air in a can that you can buy from Best Buy to clean computer keyboards etc.

I use Qtips and WD-40.... Of course the wd40 I do notuse it on the lcd.... Use it in all the case of the tx.... After finishing, just wipe off .... Works great and removes the mold stains that sometimes tx cases tend to get.... Been doing that for the last 15 years...

every now and then i just drive to the field with the tx on the roof of my car ..... 70mph air cleans it just fine

but in the real world i use sea breeze...basically rubbing alcohol.... and cotton balls/qtips
sea breeze leaves less streaks than rubbing alcohol and seems to clean it better
