FREE**ROUTE 66 JETS 7TH ANNUAL
A different twist on the KingTech Turbine Auction that was cancelled by RCU.
Still don’t understand….had something to do with the way it was presented?
The high bidder at the time it was cancelled was Nicos Astras from <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on"></st1lace></st1:country-region><st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1lace w:st="on">Cyprus</st1lace></st1:country-region>.
Nicos, after the cancellation also cancelled his bid but subsequently donated $250
to our Event….can you imagine???
Then just last week Barry Hou, Mr. KingTech, also donated an additional $250.
This $500 plus $515 donations at the Event largely offset our $650 dinner
plus buying a new tent cover that was damaged for another $650.
So all is well that ends well not withstanding the interim drama ! ! !
Thanks Barry for the continued support to our Event.

"Dear Nicos,
Thank you for your kind words, it seems that you guys enjoyed it to max and hopefully next year would be much better.
i hope one day i will make it over and meet you in person.
Nicos
IT WAS PROBABLY THE BEST YET WITH NEAR PERFECT FLYING CONDITIONS ALL 4 DAYS,
WELL OVER 500 FLIGHTS, NO FATILITIES, LOTS OF SPECTATORS, ETC. ALSO, GREAT
DONATIONS FOR THE PILOTS DRAWING, FROM "FRIENDS OF ROUTE 66 JETS".
I WOULD BEST CHARACTERIZE R-66 AS HAVING TAKEN ON THE AIR OF A JET
CLUB/FRATERNITY..MOSTLY THE SAME PARTICIPANTS YEAR AFER YEAR, WITH A FEW NO
SHOWS AND A FEW NEW PILOTS.
THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE FOR THE 8TH R-66 IN 2013.
JIM ALLEN AND I, HAVE STEPPED DOWN AS AMA CONTEST DIRECTORS DUE TO OUR
PROBABLE ABSENCE FROM NEXT YEAR'S EVENT.
THE NEW CD IS JERRY CROW; CO-CD YET TO BE DETERMINED. JERRY HAS ATTENDED ALL
7 OF THE RT 66 EVENTS SO HE IS AN "OLD PRO".....CROW.
I'M SURE THERE WILL NOT BE A SINGLE HICUPP AS JERRY HAS HAD EXTENSIVE
EXPERIENCE AS A CD INCLUDING THE 9TH JET WORLD MASTERS LAST YEAR AT THE
NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE US AIRFORCE.
SINCERE THANKS TO ONE AND ALL FOR MAKING R-66 WHAT IT IS & I QUOTE RANDY
MOORE: "I look forward to future visits to Rt66. You guys have it figured
out as to what pilots want in an event. Keep up the excellent work."
