Skymaster F9F
Hello,
My 1st post in the new year and may it be good one for all. Special happy new year to all my friends in China.
Talking of China - it was a slow boat from China, but my container arrived and the "Panther" is in the house! Will be doing the build here on RCU for you all to follow. Manual should be done in week or so. The "Panther" and "Cougar" will share the same manual as most of the fit is the same.
Excellent quality as i would expect from Skymaster. What i like about the Panther is the tricycle landing all in the fuselage. Making it easy to have the model stand on its wheels. No extra plug inns needed. The fuselage is wide with a excellent nose cone quick fit that will make install very easy. Huge speed brakes will almost certainly make it stop right in its tracts...or should i say wings. The wings only host the 2 servos, making it light and simple to stow away. The fin and stab can be removed for transport. A pin as rudder hinge pull out to remove rudder. Unlock fin - pull off and 3 screws hold down stab. So 5 minutes max to remove and install fin , stab and nose cone. And my guess is 15 minutes max to fit all parts at field to go fly. But for those with large SUV's - just plug in wings and go fly....
Classic T-Tail (well almost) Jets fly so gorgeous and they look so gorgeous. I can not wait to maiden it. Will keep you posted.

PS - i can not get the pictures uploaded....pls let me know if there is a problem

Hi,
My biggest problem now is getting pictures uploaded. Is it RCU or me? Keep getting Server Error
500 - Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.
I will go with new 140 size turbines. Have not decide yet. Maiden will be with my trusted old STD p160.
There is 2 tanks. 2 + 1 liter. Nice and square.

Hi,
Just filled the tanks with water to check. My educated guess was out by 500ml each. So 2.5 + 1.5 = 4 liters.
Yes, sliding canopy installed.

Bart,
Each wing has 2 servos. The elevator has 2 servos. The fuselage host the rudder, steering, 2 speed board servos. Front speed brakes are pneumatic.
Normal 8411/8511 (11/15kg) servos are enough.

RE: Skymaster F9F
Hi,
I like the color of cougar Anton!
My Panther is ready for its maiden sometime this week.
Total weight is 14kg dry with all bells & whistles! And it was not build conservatively. The only thing not installed, is the cockpit. But i think the weight in nose for CG will balance the weight of cockpit. The cockpit is heavy.
So i think it will be possible to get it down to 13.5kg class if you build with that target in mind.
All in all very happy with kit. Now just for the maiden. Hoping for no cross wind because of narrow undercarriage. Might scrape that beautiful tip tanks...
Regards
PS - upload problems again...that's the reason i did not do build online. Its frustrating to work on RCU

RE: Skymaster F9F
Hi,
Maiden was done today. Very easy jet to fly and very predictable. The P160 was WAY overpowered and flew aerobatics at 1/4 throttle. My dry weight is 14Kg.
I opted for the rear CG on front main spar. Nice and sensitive. To tame her more i suggest 20mm before the main spar. All 4 L of fuel is in front of CG and i had no trouble rotating in 30m. The F9f stands with the nose high. So this together with high tail sure help.
VERY WELL DONE SKYMASTER. THIS ONE NOT FOR SALE!
