Hi All,
I want to thank Lewis for a fine event. We loved being there and bringing the Concorde for the first flight. I can not imagine a better place for the plane and the hospitality was second to none. We got the plane home to Alabama all safe and it is undergoing some improvements before being delivered to the customer. I appreciate all the help and support from everyone there and most of all the skills and experience of Ali in the flight.
The plane functioned fine and flew well with the exception of the landing gear system. On several attempts it left one main gear down and that created some strange problems for Ali to solve in the air. The airframe has rudder coupling so it was a task to keep straight and clean. The landing was a 10 and we are so thankful to him for doing the flight.
There have been some questions here about the plane It was cast in Germany by Peter Michael and the purchase was arranged by Gotz Vogelsang at teamaeroscale. It has EDFs from Schubeler that produce 22 lbs thrust from each one. The plane is 14.5 feet long and weighs 48 lbs ready to fly. It has 14 lbs of batteries and the air frame only weighed 10 when we started the build. Based on the power usage on the first flight it will fly 8 min on the motor batteries. The EDFs run on 14 cell 7800 mah and had lots of power for the plane. It looked a little sluggish on takeoff due to the high drag of the landing gear system.
Again, thanks to all for the help and I will see you all next year for sure. I am thinking about another large project to have by then.

I hope for all that are home your trip was safe and uneventful and those still traveling make it home safely.
In the eight years I have attended this event they just keep getting better, and every year I keep saying what more can Lewis do to make this the best jet event in the country, just schedule it! You have hit this one out of the ball park! Not enough can be said about the countless hours you put into this event so we can come reaper the fruits of you labor. Lewis, THANK YOU!
For those that missed it, I highly recommend you put it on you schedule for 2013.

Thanks Lewis and crew for a great Rally. The folks from Nashville had a great time and wish to express our appreciation for your hospitality . Everyone was great and the food both nights was fantastic. Of course, we"ll be back.
I know the rain was a "bummer" for some but was greatly needed.
I found it really interesting that at least once we had full flight stations and 12 in line waiting to fly. That has got to be some kind of record.
Another high point for me was meeting Alan and Trish Cardash. What great people. For the folks that have only talked to Trish on the phone , trust me, she is just as charming in person as she is on the phone.
Again great job everyone and Thanks for putting on what really is " The Grandest Jet Event in the Country"

WOW!! I can't believe this event keeps getting better every year!
The rain stops and the air is filled with jets with ten, eleven, no twelve planes in line waiting to take off!
A big thanks goes to the flight line crew for doing an excellent job of keeping things organized on the flight line.
To Lewis and the whole crew, THANK YOU!!

Man...what a show! Lewis has again made it a tremendous success with Jets over Kentucky! His dedication all the year round preparing for JOK really paid off again with tremendous results.
There are so so many great guys I hung out with I can't even begin to name them so I'll just say woo hoo to everyone! A couple of guys I will mention are Richard and Lukey...thanks for letting me fly your jets all week...you guys wiped me out. Between my stuff and theirs, I was flying 11 airplanes...man was that a rush. Of all the flights, I think the one I will remember (besides the red Velox XL with Bobcat wings doing the Cobra/deep stall tumble) was one of my flights with the F-100. It was real busy on the flight line and I was kind of tired so I took off, rolled inverted and proceeded to fly the entire flight upside down, low pass after low pass...inverted...just to be different. Somehow, Jake Bottita and the guy standing next to him saw what I was doing so they too rolled inverted (both flying Bandits) and formed up on me and we mad a 3 ship inverted pass...which actually looked pretty good. I hope someone got a pic of the pass...
The evening activities were as usual just a blast...and I appreciate the friendship and laughs.
Again, a big thanks to Lewis for his hard work...it's all because of you that we have the great times that we enjoy.
Hurry up 2013...I'm ready to come back!!!

When you have 6 planes in the air, a dozen holding with more taxing out, you got O'Hare International in scale.
Never imagined I would enjoy being a spectator but the show was awesome !!!
Was sorry I had to leave on Saturday but it was well worth the trip.....
Cheer to Lewis et al, Roger

This was my first visit to JOK and it won't be my last. Thanks to Lewis and the gang for a great event. Special kudos goes to Marvin and his crew for running a smooth flight line. Seeing 12 jets staged on the taxi way waiting to take off was awesome. The lines moved pretty fast. For the amount of flights that happened over the week, the incident rate was very low. Only two midairs during the week. One was pretty funny, two of little eFlight mugs got tangled up during the foamie flying. Sorry for the two turbine aircraft that were downed. I'm Jacksonville on my way to Orlando to pickup a replacement for one of the midair victims plus a couple of other aircraft.
Hope all made it home OK
Ali, the flights on the glider were off the hook
