I checked my original BVM T-33 plates and the main part is .080" and right where the retracts mount is .120". My T-33 was about 17 lbs and the plates worked very well.

On my scratch built F-94C I made the plates .120" over the whole plate but the plate is larger so I think I will get about the same flex.

That's really helpful guys, thank you. I am thinking of making up some plates for a model which weighs around 16.5 lbs dry, so the thickness you have on your T33 should be just right.

Thanks again

Be very careful copying Uncle Bob's ideas, lest you wake up inside an Aligator

or with ginger hair !

(I dunno which scenario is worse actually)
