Have we got a date for availability in the UK yet? Says mid-April on Ali's site.

Its Horizon Hobby. The left hand dont seem to know what the right hand is doing. I recon if we see them at the UK Nationals we will be lucky

I was very keen to have one but I am afraid all this 'anounce it' and then total confusion over the release date anoys me and I think I will stick to what I have already got.

HH Needs to do far better in this regard in my view

August!? I'm REALLY hoping not.

I'm sure Mr Redman will chime in and give us a clear statement on when it'll be in the shops.

I got to put my hands on one Saturday. Robert Vess was showing one off at a RDRC fly in Zebulon NC. Had a very nice feel to it,

Kinda convinced me that might just need one.

Hey folks, I was able to fondle the DX18 at Toledo on Friday. The rubber grips felt a little different (I use a JR9503) but I think I would like it better. To me the sticks felt like they had a lot of spring tension. More than I'm used to. I talked to Danny Snyder there and he said they were easily adjustable to my liking.

He also confirmed that if I were using the AR12020 or AR12120 receiver that I could have 12 channels at 2048 and the remaining at 512. I'm building a 12 foot wingspan B-17 and can use everyone of these channels. This radio will save me the cost of 5 or 6 Matchboxes so that is a big plus for me!

Overall it felt good and solid in my hands with switches easily accessable and very similar to the layout I'm used to with the 9503.

I did pick up an AR12020 receiver and the TM1000 Telemetry module at the show. Couldn't find anyone who had the XPlus 8 module though. Now I just have to wait for the DX18 to hit the market!! :-)

I just received my new Kindle Touch from Amazon. It was originally advertised for release on 26th April 2012 and it arrived today on the 21st April. Now wouldn't it be nice if Horizon could perform like this in respect of the DX18 and other products

I saw on Facebook a few days ago that Ali has been sent a DX18...is this a sign of impending stock delivery? I'm really trying NOT to get my hopes up.

Any chance you could bring it down to Blackbushe Show Ali so we can get our grubby mits on it?

I have yet to even see this DX-18 as it arrived whilst I was at Top Gun, and I have only just landed home, and its at the store. I have another DX18 that I have been running since Florida jets. Albeit a pre production beta tester, If I don't have the new one, I for sure will have the other with me at BB.

I had a fondle of the one at Rougham and I was not that impressed. I liked the feel of my 11X Zero loads better. I also didnt like the screen that much.

Still good value I was going to buy one, now I am not so sure.

Just pre-ordered mine from Als and they tell me Horizon are saying they should be here first week in June. Great news if that's the case.

High spring tension pre-set. Yes you could lower the tensions, but watch out for repositioning. The really slick ball bearing setups can be really lightly used if you like a fine touch. Any stiction or reluctance as in a non bb gimble would be frustrating. I like a lightly sprung stick, because i fly relaxed. But i need that feel that goes with the fine bb setup. Non centering or vague centering would leave you disappointed.

After having two separate lockouts on Specktrum stuff (lost boomer and P-51 Mustang on the same day that both has Spectrum RXs!) and seeing the beautiful bandit (owned by a Horizon Rep and painted in Spektrum theme) go in at MAB on this new radio, I'll pass. I'd rather wait for JR to come out with more channels.

There will always be a duff one Andy with anything mass produced.
I must have had well over 1000 flights over the last three years with a DSX9 using mainly Spektrum recievers with not so much as a glitch.
I will admit to having a couple of rx's which would not rebind and Horizon replaced them with new but never had an in flight failure.
Gary.
