At 300 KPH who's got time to look at a Telemetry display on a radio. Maybe it should come with a plug in port for a HEAD UP DISPLAY. I use the HiTec Aurora 9 and at  65 mph on my U-Can-Do or 100 on a Mustang it is difficult to catch a glance now and then just to see the LARGE DISPLAY of the GPS speed and Altitude. If you put all the telemetry on one screen at one time it i s so small it becomes almost useless while flying. If you fly using a tray Telemetry is completely useless for in flight use. The Aurora 9 has a neat feature (TOY Play Thing) that one can record a flight on a laptop and play it back. The GPS puts out a 3D coordinate every half second so how far apart are they at 300 or so KPH. But it's still neat to see the flight after the fact. You can even play it back in GOOGLE EARTH and look at it in 3D against the back round at your field.

This is as close to my "Dream Tx" as it'll ever get ! WOW!

I went to Hitec Module on my MX22, but this one could bring me back to the Dark Side

How is the DSMX track record so far?
DSMX has got to be better than the 5 year old Techonology of the 5,6,or 7. Since 1 Dec 2011 I've wittnesed 13 unexplained (loss of radio) with those 3 radios any thing's got to be better than that. But in their defence it is 5 year old technology.

I haven't really followed branding/2.4 ghx battles recently.

If I buy the dx18, will the receivers be compatable with JR's dsmx recievers/ transmitters?

Yes it's compatible with both DSM2 and DSMX receivers. I'm not sure if you could buddy it with a JR tx though

That is some price for an 18ch radio makes the futaba one even a bigger joke, they need to find a new supplier for their £2000 colour screen

It can only get better ... Maybe a Helmet that plugs into the radio and reads your thoughts ... No sticks, Buttons, Nobs, or Switches .. Just a touch screen and the helmet. Wasn't there a movie about a Russian Fighter Like that? OH well at least with a data logger U can figure out what made the "SMOK'N HOLE".

If planes just started dropping out of the sky in a 2 month period I'd start to wonder what was knocking those planes out of the sky if it was just on 2.4. Or was it a single transmitter, or pilot error. Only 13 you say ? I've seen 13 go down in a week with pilots blaming it on everything buy themselves We need more information to solve your unexplained crashes then IT'S DSM2 !!!!!! Yeah they openly admitted that there can be issues with to many radios on at one time. Everyone for awhile thought they were invincible which was obviously not the case. I'll probably use DSMX on my $$$$ aircraft so I'll have that extra peace of mind at large events. But I'm not going to go troll forums whining about FASST and DSM. Gotta get out and fly and have fun !!! 13 flyable planes and no problems for years. Oh actually I did lose one that wasn't mine. It was using a Futaba 14mz and data logging showed a signal loss But I wouldn't hesitate to use FASST ever as neither would I dsm.

Just saying DSM2 is 5 year old techonolgy and uses only 2 chnnels outof 80 or so ... it inharently has a builtin flaw ... The way I understand it is that it picks the 2 best channels on the ground and these can be right next to each other in the 2.4 spectrum. Very possible if one get's some kind of interfearance so will the other because of it's not far enough away from the freq. of the interferance.Just an obveration
Also the 13 were all on spectrum 5,6,&7's and 1 JR using a DSM2 Reciever with a Satalite. There were others but these 13 were just loss of radio contact ...
Meaning "NO CONTROL" at all.

Gixxy. You're not gonna win this one. Hound is convinced that if it comes from Horizon, it's junk. Those of us that have had a trouble-free experience are ticking time bombs who are destine to crash due to a broken radio link. Seeing that I've been using a DX7 problem-free for six years, I like my odds...
