I just received every ones request for the O-rings I will mail them out tomorrow on my day off. Not sure how the international ones will work but I will check the cost of postage.

No problem, hopefully the supplier changes them out for future customers.
Philip, congrats on the success with your MRM Hunter, it looks stunning. Any thought on the seat?
One question about the weathering. I understand wiping chord wise on the wings and stab but it looks like on the fuse you wipe front to back basically along the thrust line. The result looks convincing. In the past I've always done it top to bottom or perpendicular to the ground on a tail dragger as this is how the aircraft would weather sitting on the ground.
I noticed on the Futura you did for Ali you also wiped nose to tail. Any comments? I may try this on my hunter.
Thanks!

Fabulous!...Congratulations!
What charger(s) do you use? Will you be able to charge at the field or do you plan to use two sets of flight packs?

Thanks Randy. I'm still stoked over the maiden
The charger I use is the FMA PowerLab 8 along with a 24V, 2,000 watt, 60A Meanwell power supply. I have a Honda 1,000 watt generator but I need to upgrade to the 2,000 watt one. The charge turn around time is 30 to 45 minutes so I use one set of batteries. Once I upgrade to the 2,000 generator, charge turn around time will be 15 to 20 minutes.

Great flight!! Congrats!!
Love the photo as well, really shows how large the wing area is. I've been told mine should be ready to ship at the end of June or early July, I'm really looking forward to getting it!!

Fantastic Kirk! I knew it would work, but that exceeded what I envisioned. It really got off the ground quickly and flew at a great speed. I'm sure as you get more time on it you'll be able to slow it down and stretch the flight time. Very impressive!

Just lovin´it Kirk
Looks like it could benefit from a gyro on the ailerons maybe?

Kirk,
I didn't notice any wing rocking tendencies? (but then again I was looking at the video on an iphone) But, I believe there are gyro inputs to the R7008sb rx and there are also sbus compatible gyros, gy520 comes to mind. Not exactly sure how to set one up, but I'm sure one of the experts on here would know how;-) Maybe a little more expo on the ailerons would smooth out any roll tendencies. Unless your talking about while neutral? Just saying. At any rate, looks real smoooooooth in flight ;-)... me likes
BTW, looks like 29lbs (or 30lb turbine) is about right for this bird!
Cheers

NIce Job Kirk looks great. I would like to ask are you guys using the recomened CG which is 55mm behind the hatch and is so how are you guys lifting to cg because I dont have any where to grab at 55m mm as the tanks are in the way. Once I cg and get a pilot I will be ready for my test flight then again who needs a pilot just CG and test flight.
Also for all who ask for orings they were sent out on Thursday.

- measured 55mm back from the trailing edge of the forward fuse opening at the crown of the fuse spine
- placed a piece of tape in that area and put a dot on the tape at the 55mm mark
- measured from the mark back to the nearest panel line and got 11cm
- go to the side of the fuse at the wing root and measure forward 11 cm and place a mark, that will be 55cm from the hatch cover (assuming the panel line is striaght).
- do the same as above on the hatch cover legdes (see photo). This way you can place your finger under the ledge at the mark and pick the model up to test the CG.

Damn your smart Kirk easy solution. I guess after working all day and then build till the late night I just stop thinking for solutions. Now I have to decide if I want to drive 2 1/2 hours to go to Markham park to test fly or just drive an hour to St. Lucie for my test flight. I also still need a pilot maybe I will hit the toy store to find one. I hate paying $100.00 for a pilot that I will have to cut up to make him fit.

Nice Pics by the way have you tried the speed brake yet and if so how did the Jet react. Also did you use all the recomended throws. I have mine set up with all recomended throws with some expo and then go down from there with the daul rates.

Thanks Jose. I temporarily made the speed brake fixed so I can't help you on that one. Although it would be cool to deploy the speed brake on a fly by, I also feel I would be burning electrons for something cool and robbing flight time and I'd rather have the flight time. In Collin's video, his Hunter looked nice and stable with the speed brake deployed.

For the throws, I used the ones in the manual. I added 15% expo on ailerons, elevators, and rudder. I think the ailerons and elevator could use a touch more.

Sounds good I will be using a Super Eagle in mine so 30lbs of thrust should be plenty and then someI figured I would be also looking at a 10 minute flight with plenty for goarounds if needed but I will start with a 8 min test flight.

Jose, what is your AUW and how much extra weight was required to achieve your balance?
Jose, what is your AUW and how much extra weight was required to achieve your balance?
My AUW for the Hunter is 29.8lbs call it 30lbs I guess thats with the UAT full. Now the scary part to me is that to obtain the recomended CG I did not have to add any weight. Now with that being said I do have all of my equipment up front in the cocpit area I also have 2 3200 life and a 2s 3000 all the way up in the nose. I used Kirk advise to get my CG on the wing and I inverted the plane with the gear in the down position. I figured it will be nose heavy once fueled and at about 12oz per min and 155oz of fuel I should get an easy 8 to 9 min flight and still have over 35oz of fuel left in the center tank making me nose heavy for landing.

That's good news Jose, slightly lighter than mine. I've balanced mine with a full CAT and empty tanks. It is an odd thought to think the only time the plane will actually be in balance is if you run the thing out of fuel.
Looking fwd to hearing/seeing your results.

Here's the flight report:
Full throttle was used on the takeoff and during a vertical at 2:30 in the video. The rest of the flight was at half throttle including the low flybys. The elevator was out of trim and it needed some down. Two clicks of left aileron were added.Once trimmed, the Hunter was a smooth and docile and a dream to fly. The maiden lasted 3 minutes and 4800 mAh were consumed. I have 10,000mAh so 5 minute flights are doable with some to spare for a go around. I can't wait to fly it again.
