BTW, have you had a chance to run your K140 in your Futura yet?
Ran the engine a few times on the bench last weekend. Running it IN the Futura this weekend. Probably flying it for the first time 2-3 weeks after that when (and if) we get some blue sky.

Even the K140 looks kinda small in the 2m Futura!

21kg=46lbs! Are you sure about that. My Futura will probably be 24lbs fully fuelled.

Thanks Ian. Did some engine tests in the model this weekend and taxi'd around a bit. Crikey has it got some grunt! Spool up of the turbine from idle is fairly quick but still going to take some getting used to after flying EDF for so long. Just need to make some adjustments to get CG, get the brakes working and install a drag chute if I get time...oh and program up for the DX18 when it comes in.

That is a lot of engine in that Futara looks nice though and I was impressed how quiet the K140 is in the video

Not disagreeing with that but I wanted an engine that would see me alright for my next project so know I've got to be careful on throttle. There was a chap on here thinking of putting a K170 in an UltraFlash so I'm not in that league! Surely all a case of knowing when to use full throttle. i.e. not when pulling level out of a dive.
