Scott,
Well done you build faster than me ? Raj hobbyking have just released the G500 in the German wharehouse so it will be easier for you to buy.
Good luck on your first flights and take some video,
cheers Euan.

hi all the citation was maidend today, a very nice model i had issues at the fiels with those eflite retracts they cud not handle the weight of the plane the citation was heavier then i expected however ther was no extra added weight to the model scot you did a great job of the build thanks, i taxid the plane out to the runway on the first taxi turn the eflite retracts kept turning and not tracking straight enuff for a fast smooth strait take off so me and my firends had to mess about with those retracts finally after a few things done we put the plane back on the ground and started those turbines i decided to level it out strait on the runway and got ( boomer man) guy) to hold the fin as i told him to let go the model started excelerating down the runway with around half flap it took off in a very scale manner and not like an f16 it flew well, i found that it used all my up trim after trimimg it out the elevator needed alot off trimimg and the ailerons rudder ext were all perfect the plane seemed heavy as it just wanted to fall out the sky on turns the power was just kept on over half throttle threw out the flight . if i had slowed the plane it would have fallen out the sky as the model weight was between 17-18LB WET fully fueld up with 11lb of thrust i did many low and scale fly bys so all friend could take pictures and video the citation, after a few minites of flys and low fly bys it was time to land ther was a cross wind i went around with half a flap slowing the plane down hitting just under half throttle the plane wanted to just fall out the sky i then had to flick the elevator switch to high rates and put in full flap for final aproach it slowed down i kept the engines powered up the model was just looseing atitude to quick as i almost hit the runway i powered the model little more down and it soon landed not the best landing but no damage was done it was all good,

2nd flight again had retract problems and it took off again but the same simlar thing happend upon the turns and landing. the p20s will fly it no problem but i really did think some extra thrust was needed to make it fly alot better due to the weight of the plane most of the time i was flying the aircraft over half throttle to keep it flying in the air. the model is in good condition no damge to the fuslarge it just needs better retracts as the eflite ones didnt work out as id think theyd have altho looked sleek in the air and real pictures to fllow and il post the you tube video link sorry its not the best video as i got a mate to video it from an i phone

Here are the pics ... Why dont retracts just work?

Im feeling that the CG at 105 - 110 may have been a little conservative, that coupled with the additional weight of the fuel just foward of the CG ...

Congrats Raaj. Good luck sorting out the retracts. Are the all metal eFlite retracts or the plastic 10-25 size ones? I've used the smaller plastic retracts in a couple of foamies and had same problem with the struts turning but the larger 120 size metal retracts are great.

Hi dom! The metal eflite 80 120 size retracts are metal ther really only designed for 15lb models I guess I was pussing them on an 18lb model then again it would have helped of I had got some trailing link alloy legs! That citation realistacly needs boomerang sprint jeta1 retracts they are solid and can handle the weight fixed strait leg wired retracts are really easy to break or get bent on landings never mind main thing is I put it in the air and got the pictures and videos for every one! Must say looks good in the air and the sound off them twins were amazing dom!! How did u get on with urs did u fly it last Saturday??

Another video a mate had recorded!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8K73I...e_gdata_player

As you can see on one off the take offs the retract got bent and the model wheel turnd the grub screw came loose aswel and luckily ther was no damage as I shut the throttle off quicker the planes in good condition it's just a shame. I suppose it needs better wheels and solid retracts along with some led out the nose the landing was similar situation to first one more I had shut the throttle the faster the plane wanted to drop

hi all
flew the citation again today after scott had changed the c of g! to around 110 wet. one of the main tanks are now half way back in the fuslarge, the plane flew perfect no up trim was needed in flight at all only a few clicks on the left trim and the plane was flying sweet. behaved really well it was not the best day in terms of wheather ther was alot more cross wind then the last time i flew it. 4mins in the air and stil half tanks were full, the plane came in nicely.
the back wheels were also fine this time no twist or turns only problem was the front nose wheel the stering servo arm wire broke off this was because it was to weak i think it may have to do with a stronger cable altho, great stuff looked and sounded great in the air flew well wil upload pictures and video links to the flight thanks dude the c of g is now correct and also i must say this time it really didnt require much thrust to fly it i was flying just under half throttle threw the whole flight only full power was needed on take off

Raj,

Great work - so pleased ... this has been a real labour of love ... looks ace, my mate Terry is going to sort us out a 5mm titatium pin and will modify the smaller trailing link leg for the front ...

Scott.

sweet work dude yeh i think it really does need trailing link legs that would just make it alot easier on landing its really a shame thers no trailing link legs on the market that just fit straight onto the eflite retracts i hope ther is in the near future, im sure it wil be alot better when we use a trailing link leg on nose cheers lad,
