WHAT???? Snoopy's is an all time classic legend in Raleigh. Right up there with Char grill. College students would have starved without them.

You Bet Richard. Just ask any of the RV'ers that came last year. Nice level lot, mowed grass, with lighting and easy access. Its located right beside the FBO office. Last years event saw many of the RV folks joining together at night for a few drinks, and great conversation. Heck,,,,, it was better than a KOA camp ground! Just ask Eric
Ill have more info up soon about tents, camping and more. Keep checking back.

As far as local food goes...

Since you're in Wilson, NC BBQ is King. I HIGHLY recommend Parker's BBQ, which is about 6 miles from the flying site. There is also the Beefmastor Inn right around the corner from there. Their menu is Ribeyes, baked potato and salad bar. There is no question that it's one of the #1 steakhouses in the state. Also, Professor O'Cools is a great bar with some AWESOME chicken wings about 3 miles from the field. Dick's World Famous Hot Dogs and burgers is about 4 miles away. San Jose mexican restaurant is only a mile or so away - and it's my favorite place to go. Get the Churi-Pollo and you won't be sorry!

As far as breakfast goes, the Country Restaurant is only a mile or so from the field and they have the best breakfast in town.

If you guys want a list of local places to eat and addresses I will be happy to help.


Leave it to the fat guy to recommend places to eat....

Whoo Hoo!

I'll be there with my 2, yes, 2 bobcats! I was finally able to complete my 9 year old kit this year. Well, sorta complete, I'm still in the painting/polishing stages and, boy, do my polishing arms hurt... Gonna put the first bobcat up for sale soon so I can 'diversify' my fleet...

Class act last year! Looking forward to this year's event!

With any luck I'll have the tent/table,chair/fan rental info up tonight! Spent last night setting up a new secure payment system that will allow you guys to pay from your own PC. Once you e-mail me the rental request I will e-mail you an invoice. You simply click on the payment preference ( cc or dc ) and pay from your home. I'll get the deposit confirmation and BAMMM! Youre In like Flynn!
Talked to the rental guy this morning. ALL tent, table, and chair prices will remain the same as last year. Says as long as we continue as repeat customers he will try keep prices down as low as possible. He likes our business Oh,,, I think he was really digging watching you guys fly last year also!!!
These will be on the list this year as well. 42" barrel fans! Pilots from last years event remember it got pretty warm on one or two days of the event. This thing could provide huricane force winds for ya!!! lolol

For you first timer FiF pilots, I thought Id post a couple of pics to give you an idea of the facility. This was taken on Thursday morning of last years event. One of our buddies did a fly by and snapped these. You can get a good idea of how open the area is, and see where the tents are located in relation to the main runway. Thats 4500' x 150' of runway just waiting for YOU! Tents are set up on the center taxiway giving everyone a paved front yard to park planes on, or push out to the flight line. Ive been trying to find last years event here on RCU, but somehow, some way, SOME ONE has taken the whole thread down!!! There's lot of pics on there we'd like to re-post. Any of you boys have connections with the higher ups in RCU? lol Cant imagine why someone would remove it.

What's up Richie? It'll be good seeing you again. I plan on bringing my Mig29, Falcon 120, JL T-45( which I've been working on since 2006 and have not finished, lol) and a Century Jet f-15 that I acquired from Joe King. I'm shooting to get my JL Tutor done as well or my Yellow single F-18. It's going to be a fun event!
