JMA West Raynham
This weekend was the JMA's first meeting of the season at RAF West Raynham, by kind permission and lots of help from the local club. Yesterday there were not many pilots, so we will probably go back to a one day meeting. Today it was busy, around thirty pilots and as many interested watchers. The day started cool with a light cross wind, then became warm...with a light cross wind! But the strength was never really an issue and even F-16/F-15 models coped. There was wall to wall flying with four models in the sky most of the day. I took my Ultra Flash P-120SX, BobCat Composite P-100RX, DerJet Vampire P-120SX and Ready2Fly Venom EDF. All were flown at least once, the Venom having three flights and being very much liked! Stevie Roberts had his too and we managed several formation flights. Couple of new models Rob Westwater had his Swiss DJ Vampire finished (P-100RX) and I had the great pleasure of doing the maiden...as usual with one of Rob's models...perfect other than a couple of beeps of Aileron trim.
I'll pick on things as I post pixs...but cooking dinner too!!

The Venom is a foamie EDF. See the last JetPower magazine...
The Vampires are DerJet models and too heavy for EDF as moulded.

Many thanks to all who surported sundays event,i think a good day was had by all,the weather was near perfect, the best day we have had this year.Flying was very good, with no flight line marshall every one behaved them selves and no reported incidents, great stuff.
The event was allways a one day jet meet but with some people travelling a very long way i managed to get permission for them to stay the night at the field,we even had a JMA member fly in with his full size machine regards Keith ps i have a video which i will upload asap.

I would be sorry if the Saturday meeting were ended. I enjoyed the Saturday more than the Sunday with the greater informallity in spite of the better weather on the Sunday. I feel this meeting will grow in popularity as people get to know their way to this rather hidden part of Norfolk.
I stayed overnight at a local B&B with a very good breakfast at a very reasonable price. Others stayed the night in a caravan. In short it was wonderful weekend. Incidentally it was entirely self governed - with no more than 4 up at any time- entirely by mutual understanding. There was only one casualty when a new ECU Lipo failed in a heavy model unexpectedly. OK there were a few overshoots and heavy landings but nothing terminal.
May I thank everybody who made this event possible. It was really fun and hugely enjoyable.
