I'm assembling the 1/5th Cougar, am I the only one running into a stab thickness issue towards the trailing edge? Trying to fit a standard size servo (MKS 1220) that is 20mm wide and the depth is barely 20mm in the stab. Now bear in mind the Cougar stab/elevators are swept compared to the Panther. I may need to go with a thin servo, but decent torque is hard to find. Any ideas guys?

Thanks, I see what you've done there. I think that will compound my clearance problem even more...I looked at sliding the servo further forward towards the thicker part of the stab, but there's not really much room before I run into the forward spar. You'd think after 5 years of production SM would make the servo opening large enough to accommodate a standard size servo without having to dremel out most of the cover plate lip support? (Jeez) I'll have to figure something out

Fantastic looking Cougar AV8TOR, nice scoop....
I can't comment on your thrust question as I'm just started in my build. Everything I've read and see so far supports the idea that 160 is PLENTY for this jet. (Including BVM)
I'm putting a Behotec 190 in mine but that's besides the point

I did not put the missile or drop tanks on my Cougar, but when I needed those positions for my F-86, John at Skymaster sent me a drawing. Perhaps just shoot him an email.
Cheers,

Hey guys, can anyone please confirm the aileron throws for the cougar? Instructions call for only 10-15mm at the inboard root but that looks like it would not be enough to me.
Thanks in advance!

Has anyone added lights to this jet, and if so how difficult was it to route the wires through the wings? any pics?
Got mine flying this year and she's a great jet. Running a 160 which gives very scale power.

I did lights on mine and it was pretty simple. I think I may have had to drill a hole in the very outer part of the wing spar near the tip but access was easy.
