Nice!

How much fuel are you carrying? No bellmouth on the pipe?

Thanks for the compliments, I will try to get some video next week. Shaun can you tell me the what C.G. you used. The instruction says it should be 12 1/2" forward of the trailing edge at the wing root with fuel tanks full. What is the C.G. with empty tanks? I have a total of 40 ounces of fuel, two 10 ounnce tanks in front of the turbine and two 10 ounce tanks on either side of the turbine. The pipe was made by my friend Tino from Baltimore. It is very light and the wren 44 gold runs very cool with it.

can't wait to see the result

Your left upper tank looks to be a Sullivan Flex tank(clearish vs. your right tank that is normal white nylon). They are rated for Glow fuel only. I know that gasoline will destroy them, I am not sure about kerosene.

Hello JeffH, you are correct, the sullivan flex tank is rated for glow fuel only. Good eyes. You saved me a lot of headaches. Thank you! Mark.

Hi,

Use the 12.5" location. That will work fine if your tanks stay in the location you have them.

Hi,

Your tanks appear to be centered on or about the CG, so it shouldn't matter. Measure the CG location and mark it, then verify that the tank is centered on it, then measure it empty. Gear DOWN.

Thank you Shaun. I love this little jet. It's small enough to fit in my SUV with the wings on and large enough to see in flight. I hope the Wren44 has enough power to lift it off my grass field.

I finally got the chance to put two flights on the Skyhawk. The take off roll is similar to the ducted fan Skyhawk, but once in the air the wren 44 has better vertical, however the top speed is also similar to the ducted fan Skyhawk. The Skyhawk is also very stable and easy to fly which surprised me. I do not think that my Skyhawk has enough power to take off of grass which was my main concern.

What's the ready to fly weight? I'm just finishing up a T-45... and I'm planing on flying it from grass.

One thing... I know they are a little pricey... but if you change to the Wren pipe... they claim a 5% thrust increase.

Hi Tony, the Skyhawk weighs 12 and 3/4 LBS without fuel. I dont know how guys are getting them under 11 LBS. This combo flies very scale like at a little above 1/2 throttle and the light wing loding seems to help when landing. Mark

Mark, how did you choose the distance between the 44 nozzle and the tailpipe? I have a couple of Wren tailpipes in use with 44 Golds, and have set them at Wren's specified distance. However, someone gave me a tailpipe which is similar to yours, except the entrance is flared ever so slightly. I'd like to use the pipe in a model to save the expense of buying another Wren pipe, but can't decide how far to set it from the 44 nozzle.

Thanks

Gordon

Thanks for the info. I was worried about the 44 gold, and general grass flying. So... with fuel... you are at about 14 Lbs I guess. I'm projecting my T-45 at only being at 8~9 Lbs with fuel. I also left the retracts out, and put on 3" tires. (lol) I'l be the only guy with a "Tundra" T-45.

I had my 44 for sale for a few months. People were only offering $500... so I pulled it. They don't come up too often on the used, but hang in there... you'll find one.

Gordon, my Wren 44 gold is about 3/4 of an inch from the pipe. Tony if your T-45 is only 8 LBS ,it will be a rocket with the Wren 44.
