Had to redo the ailerons plugs. The pylon to the left I 3d printed with with rivets and all. There is so much small detail on these I decided to try and print them.

Hi Ron
Should be in the same ballpark. The new kit is slightly larger but there will be different versions. Split fuse, one piece fuse, 4 piece wing, two piece wing. The reason I did this is to save on shipping overseas. Average overseas shipping was about $300 except for the last kit I had shipped out to Australia which was only $800. Trying to cut this shipping thing in half. The different versions will have different weights because structure.
Tam was dealing with ducting on the old kit.

I printed one of those about 2 months ago to replace the foam piece for now to see how it would work but still have not tried it yet. I think the rubber I use will stretch enough to get the piece out. But ofcourse eventually it will be foam core. Probably would have been easier to just print a foam core mold, lol.

Chris,
Awesome work on the gear! What is the diameter of the main and nose gear struts? Do you have a particular set of retracts in mind? I'm leaning towards electric myself. I've been using Lado retracts on some other warbirds and really like them. Keep it up, as I'm getting closer to saving up enough to buy a Hawg of my own!

Thanks Jesse. Mains are 5/8" and front is 1/2". I have quite a few designs of my own retract units that I have been working on. The problem was trying to figure out which one I wanted to use and making them cost effective. One electric setup used the ram with a screw which would work like the real A10 except without hydraulics ofcourse. Would have been a very cool setup but it was either have each strut leg machined for $250 or pay $5000 or more for die cast molds in which I believe the die cast would not be as strong as the machined part. Each die cast leg would only cost $5.00-$10.00 to make which sounds very nice but not sure if it would have been worth the investment if they did not perform. I am designing my own mechanical setup in which I will probably have Bruce from Century jet supply the electronics and motors. He has very fair prices for the setup.

Wow!
That's getting into the realm of super, super-detailed! Nice job, Chris.
I can't remember if your cockpit kit includes a ejection seat? I'm one to super-detail my planes, too, and your instrument panel would deserve a top-notch cockpit to go in.
I do a lot of vacuum forming and would probably build a ACES II seat for my A-10 if you don't offer one yet. Besides, I just picked up this pilot who plans on flying the Hog
and he'll need a good office to work out of. Just have to get him painted and he'll be ready to serve. Oh, and I guess I'm jumping the gun here just a bit, as I still have to
get a version 2 of your plane first! I'm about ready to go on the order list...

Hey Chris,
Fabulous detail, awesome work! Don't know how my subscription got dropped, RCU must have done some site remodeling or something. It really looks to me like the new A10 is really going to be worth the wait. My fans and electronics are waiting for their new home

Was having problems with mine as well. Heres you some new detailed pylons to feast on. Yes I have re done them. Very intricate work, so I decided to model all the detail.

Hey Chris,
How's it going? The holidays are upon us, and I wish you and yours the very best!
I'm slowly gathering up all the bits I'll need to put one of your A-10's together, and have settled on the Vasafan 110, 14-blade fans. They are awesome, all-carbon fiber construction and have a great sound to them. You mentioned that Tam did the inlet ducts for the old kit, so is he still the source for them? The Vasa's are 110mm fans with the outer duct being 112mm in diameter. We'll have to talk about which version of your airframe suits me best. I'm more interested in a "Almost ARF" version, but I want to do the final painting and markings myself. Are you taking orders now, and what will be your lead time for a kit? I'll be able to afford one after the new year, and look forward to checking out your handiwork up close! Thanks and Happy Holidays!
