Default Barry Raborn's (u2fast) New Ride for Top Gun

Barry did the maiden of the Hawk at Bomber Field today. Pilot was too scared to get in, he said "maybe next time"

Barry's other ride for Top Gun. The master riveter, Don Yockey giving his blessing on the rivets

Barry

The hawk looks great. You will have to talk to that pilot and get him in cockpit for next flight.

Good luck and good flying at Top Gun

dubd, the hawk is a tomahawk designs kit. the corsair is a bah's xxl corsair. both kits are available through vogelsang aeroscale. the hawk was a maiden. i left the cockpit out as the nose weight wasnt needed. the hawk flew awesome. no trim, very smooth. the corsair is nearing one year of flying. took her out for practice. she is larger then a comp arf and comes in at 87lbs. still, the wing loading is just over 40oz per square foot and it lands very very nice. also, updated my ama weight waiver inspection yesterday with her. the corsair is flying in team scale with graham buchanan of tiger models in england. he is the builder and painter. going out again next weekend with just the hawk for practice. she will fly in unlimited. this was a huge team effort. tomahawk in germany built the kit and painted her. i had to do some additional painting on this end on all of the details. the install has been a ton of work. more then i would imagine. kirk jensen pitched in on helping program the radio. she has the new spectrum powerbox and kirk is very familiar with this set up. gotz vogelsang helped coordinate with germany on the construction and shipping. olinco (olivier) hooked me up with a powerful behotec 180 gold that is just awesome! almost instant throttle response. i scuffed her down and added on coat of polyurathane clear so i could burn in the rivets. the small ones seem to be barely visible. too big of a jet not to have rivets. they look great once added. here are a few pics.

Don Y. approves of the rivets.. Barry does a super job. I just shipped a Starfire out without rivets - I'm having withdrawal.
