Was it a Behotec as I am not sure they make a 300N turbine (might be wrong) or is it actually a BF Turbines B300F (not to be confused with Behotec) - its a P200 sized turbine with certification for use with manned aircraft with over 300N of power - amazing unit.

big Behotec 300 in it...

However they make the amazing 180 Gold Edition which is essentially a 160 size turbine putting well over 36 lbs of thrust ( close to 40 in most cases ).
Barry had one on his big Hawk and I think that he was quite happy with it. Not sure how he scored though with this brand new model.

I think of all the models at Top Gun, this one was by far the most interesting. 1/5 scale Westland Wyvern S4 by Dave Wigley. I heard that he won the Mr. Top Gun title, but not sure. I left the event right after my last flight on Sunday and did not stay for the awards. 6 days at a dusty flying field was 3 days too much for me :-)

But I think I am still in shock of the 100+lbs P-47 of Brian O'Meara.
What an amazing plane and he was nice enough to allow my kid to get in a shot for size reference...

RE: Top Gun 2012
That's all the photos I have. It was a fun event and I was pretty happy placing 3rd. A few of my personal observations regarding the event:
PROS:
Probably the only place you will get such a nice selection of planes in one place. Truly outstanding selection
Fun times with pilots from all over the world.
PJ Ash and his after hours Warbird cocktail bar is just a perfect way to end the day. A nice cocktail on ice with the warbird gang at the field.
Well run flight line, parking and housekeeping, all done by the local Imperiel RC Club
CONS:
Having to spend 6 days there to fly 4 rounds is just to long. That's also why I stay away from the World Jet Masters. It could have been done in 2 days just like Expert and Masters.
The dust... Everything is covered in dust. It gets into your plane, jams up your struts. You will be cleaning out dust from places you did not know existed. Fortunately you can buy $6 cups of lemonade at the field to wash it down.
The flying field. Museum and School at one end, Hangar with $50 mill Boeing BBJ's at the other. A jet crashed 25 feet from a historic aircraft and Friday about 12 school busses showed up and resulted in our maneuver turns having to be cut short. The field is great for small planes and prop jobs. Several pilots got warnings for overflying restricted areas.

Here are a few of the shots I took. Mine are no where as good as JC's pics. It was a great to see everyone again and put some faces to screen names. Top Gun is always a great time and if you have never been Frank puts on some of the best events in country.

May not be, but the sound difference (both sheer volume & tone) between the Hawk & the A6 was huge in my opinion from where we were observing.

One of the most fantastic engine I have ever tested.
The US version is even more outstanding with its orange and black livery and diamond anodized compressor...
