It's the RAF Benevolent Fund logo and they are the teams nominated charity. Being 'manly' isn't just about flexing muscles!

It's not the first time this has been done and I think it's quite nice of them to help fundraise for their less fortunate colleagues/ex-colleagues.

Nothing like taking an expensive machine and making it look like a cheap toy. Awesome cause but a terrible scheme

Duncan, that's just a picture I don't even think the real one is out of the paint bay yet.

Wait and see; I might agree with you when I see it but I will reserve judgement until then.

I'm afraid I don't know James, maybe Loz or someone can chip in on that one.

Didn't like it at first but, if you look at it for a while it grows on you. Still pales compared to the 2010 scheme but, that one's tough to beat, debatably, one of the hottest looking schemes on any aircraft ever.

I am sad and I lurk on a fullsize aviation forum. They were posted there so I just copied them here as I thought they would be of interest so I take no credit for them.
There are also more photos on the 2012 teams facebook page.

I love the scheme, i expect CARF will get on the case pretty quickly. Everytime i look at it, Austin Powers 'Shaguar' springs to mind!

On A slightly different topic but still about the BAE Hawk.

I just purchased the Carf Hawk in the Union Jack configuration Which I like a lot. I didn't realize that the wings were painted a light grey. I like the way it looks.

My question is was the original wing painted a light grey?

I have been unable to verify the color. No one that I know in the States can help me.

Thank you,

Stan
