Jim, that's the best sounding EDF I have ever heard!! Nice! Really, it looks great. Can't wait to see it at BITW.

hi Dubd:

Yes, The J10 is a fun jet to fly every day. It is so light with this size of model. (Dry weight is less than 30lb with smoke, parachute system,  vector nozzle, batteries, UAT full etc, but no fuel)

See you at Best In the West.

Thanks
James

Hi All:

Forgot to mention one thing. I know many people hate to glue servo boxes. So, I have suggested company to do some change for future prodution.

Now, for future servo boxes, they will be done during production. They are done with molding. No more to glue servo boxes now.

A photo.

Thanks
James

Hey James,

Any chance of changing the rudder on the large F-16 making the control mechanism similar to that found on the large J-10? It would certainly make removing the vertical fin for transportation much simpler.

hi David:

it is same design as your J10. . .....unscrew two bolts, then move fin, very easy. (less than 30 seconds)

Even if you need to move stabs, probably take you about 10-15 mintues to put all (wings, stabs, fin) together at field and less then 10 minutes to remove stabs and fin, wings.

Thanks
James

Ordered the large Hawk from James last month. Saw the new version at a jet meet here in Pa. and met James at the meet. First class gentleman. Saw the honeycomb construction and talked with the pilot of the hawk and he was impressed with the way it went together and especially the way it flies. No problems with the gear and over all pleased with the jet. That sold me.

Hey James...You may want to have the company run the string to pull the servo leads through if the boxes are pre-installed. From my previous experience of building your Hawk, once the boxes are installed it is pretty tough to get the leads through without the preinstallation of string. I ran string into the box areas before gluing the boxes in place. If they are pre-installing during the mold process, it would be pretty simple for them to run the string for both the ailerons and the flaps as there isn't much room once installed. Something to consider!

BTW-Waiting on my custom painted Large Hawk patiently!

Hi use the plastic inner from a control rod, insert from root end, using a twisting motion to get it through, tape servo leads to end and pull through, done this many times never fails regards Keith

Hey Keith, Did you use this technique with the boxes already glued in place or before you glued them in?

I use the wire technique, but with the FEJ Hawk there is little room to get wire in once the servo boxes are in, plus they are solid on the wing root side of the box. So in other words I would have to snake the wire in then get it to bend 90 degrees to go into the box. I have built one FEJ Hawk already, what I did was snaked my wire in first then fit and glued my boxes. I can't imagine this being fun after they are glued. I think Rex mentioned this also in his Hawk manual. This my not be true with all FEJ models, but the Hawk has a limited space in the wings.
