Best method for creating polished (mirror finish) aluminum intakes?
Building a Blue Angels, A4 Skyhawk. What have you guys found to be the best option to create polished aluminum intakes similar to what the Blue Angles used (mirror finish)? I want it to look just like the real thing. Large sheets of flight metal and tool it around gently and then polish with aluminum polish compound? I once saw an article in Jet Power where a guy created the polished aluminum look with paint and you couldn't tell it was paint.
Any advice? Thanks, Andy

House of Kolor (paint line) makes a paint that looks just like chrome when applied. It isnt as simple as just spraying it and it looks as desired. but it does look like chrome when done properly and it gets clearcoated after. So you have protection and do not have to polish or buff. You can see this application used on the Anniversary edition Grave Digger monster truck. The cool thing about it is you can apply candy paint colors over the top of it just like other basecoats. What you get from that is blue or green or red or purple or whatever candy paint you choose as a chrome looking graphic. i may do this on a large Krill aircraft at somepoint and I will post pics then.
