Default jetcat p20se experience

did any one here experience jetcat p20se trowing blue flame while advance throttle?
i had good luck on my first p20se but with bad luck on 2nd unit.

the 2nd one do not start easy as the first one it will flame out during start sequence, even you get it start it will not run smooth..
on the bench or on the airframe it will give you loud bogging sounds and blue flame when you advance throttle, from there you lost throttle control, have to back off stick to idle
for about 10-12 secs then the turbine will back to idle.

yes i did send it back to jetcat but come back with the same problem.

hope anyone here care to share their experience with this kind of problem.

You have the correct length of fuel tube between the turbine and valve?
You sent the turbine/ECU and pump back? With the latest Bus type turbines you must send all three back as electronic updates can be in all three units.

lower the unaccel 1 down a few clicks and try it. I had a finnicky starting P-20 and what i did was lower the unaccel down until it would not start at all and then go up one click at a time until i got ignition and a clean start. That was all it needed it and now starts and runs smooth every time.

With the nifty yellow socket you could easily switch engine too se if it's in the engine or the FADEC system.

yiming,

I would think that is NOT what Henke was saying! I'm sure he meant - maybe try your ECU from your correctly running P20 (which you mentioned in your first post) with this one to see if you have the same problems. The gaspar xicoy has far different connections than the Jetcat and I'm sure neither company would fancy you mating those two systems up!

Also, the uaccel1 setting Vincent is talking about is not related to the throttle trim at all - by "clicks," he meant the +/- on the GSU... you access the setting by powering on with a certain button held down I believe (been awhile since my purple days )

Just an observation from a browser - good luck.

Yiming,
To adjust the unaccel 1 you need to plug in the gsu and turn on the rx switch.

push the limits key first then the plus key and release. this will bring up the unaccel 1 screen. there will be a 3 diget number posted to the right.

hold down the change/select key and you will see an arrow pointing at the 3 digit number.

use the minus arrow key to lower that number. try two clicks and try a start. if it works then leave the setting there, if not keep adjusting that number down until it either starts smooth or it wont start at all.if it wont start at all then gradually move the number back up.

you can exit this screen by either cycling power or holding down the select key and use the arrow to get back the run screen.

note: remember the starting number (setting) from the factory so you can have a reference point.

Mine has alway started very well. But shut off mid flight. I lengthened the fuel line and Things were better I bought a new Trap tank, and it worked well. I do get poping and blue flames on start. The last time I flew it, it quit on the runway taxiing out to take off, relit flew, landed and it quit when I made the turn around to taxi back. It gave a "LOW PUMP Voltage" for the reason it quit.

I assume you have about 1meter of fuel line from the pump to the motor. It sounds like you have a sticky fuel pump but you can try bumping up the min rpm by 5k and see if that corrects the problem.

Yes Just a bit over 1 meter. Scott at Jetcat USA also suggested that the pump could be tight and Just needed to be run.
I just love this little turbine. It is Great..
