Default FlyEagle EV5U gear door Multifunction valve HELP

I have the EV5U.

Problem is when I turn on the tx and rx while the gear switch is UP on tx it cycles the gear doors ONLY for some reason?

If I turn on with gear switch on tx down it does nothing. Move the switch to gear up and it cycles the doors again for no reason?....

Any one else have this issue?

It works fine after this strange door cycle episode each time I turn on?........

Using mode 1 which is door open gear down (as most would require)

Comments please?.....

while it may not be how it's actually designed to work it's a pretty good failsafe IMO, the gear doors cycling is a good way of saying 'hey dumbass, you got the gear switch in the UP position' rather then just dumping the gear because you had the switch in the wrong position when you powered on.

Very true LOL!

I can put up with it but buggered if I know why it does it.

Only disadvantage is if you lay the model on the grass and switch on the doors will cycle and may break them!

Curious if anyone hs this problem?

I have that same valve and it does not do what you described. I am not sure if i am following what you are saying but why are you turning on the radio with the gear switch in the retract position?? keep the switch in the "gear down" position when turning on the radio. If i have all of this backwards then re-bind the radio (assuming you are using JR) with the switch in the gear down position.

He's saying that either way the unit is cycling the gear doors ONLY first. Right?

If I may, I think your right Vin. Re-bind it. Yours is the "A" version (advanced). Mav's is the standard "U" version. It does sound like a bind issue as I have had that happen before.
Shaun, I think he said it only does it when it is in the "up" possition. Either way, it shouldn't be an issue.

Mav

Lowell,

This was the part that had me thinking it was doing it either way. Mav, did you rebind it? How's it going?

Thx guys for input.

Lowell correct it does it either up or down tx gear switch.

Did a rebind (using Multiplex royal evo 16) and still does it?

I will try and do a YouTube vid and show you what happens?

Just curious if this is part of the firmware, however do not see any advantage for cycling the doors only for no apparent reason!
