Ian, keep me posted on anything you need or need to know on this. I know how good you are and what a great job you'll do for Dantley on it.

Rigorous, I stand by my statement. I saw you fly your Mig!!!!
Good call Dave, I was looking for metal rod ends but couldn't find anything smaller than 10-32. I will check them out.

I really don't see what the big deal is, anything can be an everyday flier, some fliers just have less days than others All of these airplanes have an expiry date somewhere, some just come way faster than others.
I just know from my personal Fly Eagle experience, that everyday doesn't include that many days. Experiences may vary.

The plane will be able to handle Dantley's rigorous flying style as long as he stays within its flight envelope and things stay solid. Again, the only thing I am really concerned about is the gear holding up over time. I will be posting some pics soon.

Before anyone gets the wrong idea, I'm very methodical when it comes to flying. Lessons from pattern and IMAC flying are applied when flying jets. This plane will be no different.

hey ion, only one bushing goes inside the other acts as a spacer that sits on the inner race. If they are like my F-16 which im 98% sure they are then this picture is how the should be
the one that goes inside is on the outside closest to bolt head and the spacer one is on the inside next to the control horn. Hope this helps

Hi All
For your viewing pleasure!

It is a JetMart F-14, and yes when I do fly it it can be a everyday flier. I do however do and inspection after 10 flights or so. This plane is now 4 years old.
Cheers

Hi Ian,
Does this have 2 servos driving each surface or one with a tiller arm (pull pull if you will)?
take a look at olinco's post about the feJ F-18 stabilator linkage (I think it was that plane), you have to have the servo arms and the trunion arms in the right configuration (with the right length pushrods) or you get enormous stress on the links in these pull pull set ups.
You can manually check it is a CAD program or a kinematics program, no big deal but worth a check.
Good luck with the build! BTW I pulled my little stingray down and changed batteries, got my first dozen flights in a couple of years, got to get my 20 flights back in the logbook so I can fly legal at an event!! Hope to see you soon!

RE: Fly Eagle F-14 Build
Yeah, one servo per surface although FEJ has made provisions to gang 2 together if you wanted to I suppose.
Matt, good to hear the stingray is rollin buddy. I miss seein you out there. I need to stop building planes for Dantley and finish my F-18 to get out flying again.
Thanks for the pics Fender, they do help. I think we are gonna go with the heavy duty rock crawler ones Dave mentioned.
