That would have been interesting to see! 🙂👍

How many minutes of flight could you get on each model with your setups? Do you have enough time to swing the wings?

Hi:Ron

Here is a video of my F-14 Flying before i put the Miss Molly paint scheme on it.

It flys the same with the paint scheme on it.
I could not find anyone to tape my F-14 flight at the meet.

Looks great!! Any pics of main gear doors? I'm building one at the moment and don't seem to be able to get them to close over gear struts??
Are you running foam tyres?

Hi: Tisdall 80
Thank You.
As for the gear door. if you zoom into this photo, you can see the gear doors. You can't see the inner doors.
I am not using air cylinders, I am using strings and springs and servos. to close the doors. It works very well and it is very cheep..

Thanks for the information on the gear doors. Did you have to modify the main retracts in order to get the legs far enough into the wheel well? In order for the main door to close over the wheels? I'm struggling with this at the moment.

Hi: Tisdall 80

I did not modify my gear BUT I am using the original 30 year old Yellow Aircraft Landing gear, wheels and tires.
The gear was real stiff and it would not go all the way up into the body, SO... I shoot some Air Tool Oil into the air lines and that made the gear move 1000% better.
Then I could see that the Fat Foam tire was getting smashed between the wing swing push rod arms and that would push the outer gear door to stay open a little bit. I pulled out some washers that were between the strut and the wheel ( to get the wheel closer to the strut ). I am still using the old Y/A wheel and foam tire just until it gets worn out and comes apart. I have a new set of jet wheel and tires that are real thin for when the original tires go bad.
If you go and get a new set of jet wheels and tires (jet tires are thinner) it will fix your gear door problems.

Hi: Tisdall 80

Also....
The Main gear struts ride very close to the side body of the jet, so when the gear go up, the gear arms will snag the inner gear door every time when it tries to come up.
I landed up putting some brass skid plates on the inner gear door to insure the gear would not hang up when the gear comes up. I ran into some Y/A F14 owners and a lot of them gave up and pulled the gear doors off.
I wanted to give it my best try at making the gear doors work. I did not go by the book on the gear doors but the doors are working for now.
