Is it safe to charge Li-ion in your models?
After two hot topics on charging Lipos and their potetional for a horriffic aftermath, I was thinking is it that safe to charge Li-ion in your models?
Also can you trust them to be put on charge, left unattended or even overnight?
Thx in advanced, Mario.

Li may be OK, but it accords to whose make they are, been using A123's since they first came out without any problems, but its LiPo's that have the most potential for problems.

RE: Is it safe to charge Li-ion in your models?
I had always charged my ions in my jets. I dont remember why but on one occassion i had take them out so I charged them before i put them back in. I was using a charge by the same manufacture of the batts, no setting or adjustments to screw up. They exploded on the front porch during charging, I mean exploded! It would have blown the front of my jet to bits. I was very lucky

Yea right - they explode: http://www.fire.tc.faa.gov/pdf/syste...y_04112006.pdf
To quote:
Explosion: occasionally, a cell did not vent, and instead exploded forcefully, expelling the entire contents of the cell from the casing
