EXM SPORT JET

Havn`t done too much :-)
I have been looking at the CG.
I already have a turbine pipe from another project, but it is a a bit short.
It can be used, but the turbine will be mounted a bit further back than intended.
Functionaly, that wont be a problem, and it will cost about 200g of weight in the nose to have it there.
My goal was to keep the plane as light as possible for my "small" 10kg thrust engine.........so I dont like adding the weight.
But the rx and turbine battery might be able to compensat for it anyway.
Will have to install the servos and landing gear in the wings which are slightly aft of the CG to see how bad it is.
If it gets quite tail heavy, I just have to buy a longer pipe, and get the engine further forward.
There is actualy lots of room to move it even further forward than the manufacturer inteded if I realy wanted to.
I had to buy a covering Iron
My warm apartment during the winter time here is pretty harsh on covered models, and the film has begun to bubble up a frew places.
So I bought a covering iron, and sorted out the covering. It will not lift again after I have been over it, so im fine with that.
The clear canopy`s should be on their way soon.
Still overall happy with the jet, and I bet it will fly awesome

Well....Im a sucker for starting too many projects all at the same time..........So not too much actual progress.
But......the included blue canopy was creased during transport, and I did not like the color, So Joao sent me a new clear canopy, which is also thicker.....It took a little time, but its all sorted out now
Ordered a custom exhaust pipe from Grumania jets in germany, and it was cut to length, and in my hands two days later......with a T-shirt and a bag of gummi bears Realy great quality pipe, and fast service.
Also ordered Graupner DES-707MG servos, and they have arrived.
So now I just have to put ait all together

I am going to try the retract set from hobbyking. They have a 6mm connecting pin.
Have to order some Behotec struts. Thought that I had some that would fit.....but they were too short.
Will order some 16cm long struts for the main gear right now.....
Dont know the dimensions of the electrons.
The width of the retract mount is 26mm

My Feedback: (24)
Any idea how they, and all the ARF manufacturers plank the fuselage so effectively? There must be a technique I'm not aware of to make this cost effective and quick. Like, do they take the skin out of AutoCAD and cut it flat first or something? I'm fairly amazed at how well they do this with what appears to be no effort...

Honestly, this plane is built like a boat. Just strips of balsa over formers, and then sanded to a smoothe finish, and some spackle, then covered.
The end result looks fine.
My Phoenix BAE Hawk, is sheeted in whole pieces, and they seem to have been laser cut. On the inside the wood has been pressed so it can be shaped into very complex doulble curves.........Im realy impressed with that. It almost looks like a fiberglass fuselage. My Black horse HE-111, and Stuka are also amaizing.
Looks like the factories in Vietnam have an edge over the chinese here.

Anyone else got one of these yet ?
I just installed all the servos, and installed the coltrol surfaces, and linkage.
Also installed the hobbyking retract units in the wings.....but have decided to order some other retracts for it instead.
The behotec struts fit well in the wings, but the nose strut will be a little problematic.
I have some boxes under the nose to level the plane to measure the required nose strut length, and it seems that I need a strut that is longer then the nose gear wheel well will allow. So I will probably have to cut out a piece to make it longer. Not a big problem.
Hope to have this flying in a few months time when the winter is over

build manual for the EXM sport jet
Hi,
I just purchased one of these models and it did not come with a manual, I was wondering if you could share the manual to me.
Thanks
