No worries Scott, we pride ourselves on running a fairly relaxed weekend with the usual safety rules, no pressure on anyone, fly as much or as little as you like.

Right... Thats everything charged and loaded into the van. 9 proper sized models and 4 little migs and a pair of DLG's just in case. Would have been room for a few more but customers orders and a Turbinator kit took up some space.... Thankfully [&:]
Hotel booked and just about to book what looks to be a superb Thai Restaurant for tomorrow evening. Looks like its shaping up to be a decent weekend.
Early start ahead. My alarm is set for 4 am. Aiming to get to Simon's at 5, pick him up and then onto elevington for 830 all being well.

Stopped off at services near to a place called 'Sheffield' and had to ask the girl on the till to repeat herself 3 times as I couldn't understand her. Mind you she understood me when I asked 'what you doing tonight' so I must speak the queens english

RE: Elvington Jet meet
Superb day yesterday. It felt like the first day of summer all over again. Not sure on the numbers, but it felt like just the right amount of pilots to me. 4 in the air all day meant there was never really any need to queue to get a flight, and on a few occasions there were the right number in the air to allow the possibility to get the odd circuit in the opposite direction ( Makes a pleasant change from going round and round in circles all day )
It's been long time since I have been this far north flying, almost to the point where I had forgotten about the good old Northern hospitality. I am looking forward to another day of the same today hopefully.
Regards Al
Cant sem to load pics from this crappy travel lodge broadband so it will have to be later tonight when I get home..

Bet you guys are having a brilliant weekend. Superb weather at last!
After the Long Marston Mig15 formation (Kaotic) air display I got back an immediately ordered one. Superb model and so stable to fly with the 3 axis gyro
6 flying together at Long Marston. How many did you guys get flying together?
Ian

RE: Elvington Jet meet
Sorry but as much flying as anyone could wish for, came home with an empty fuel bowser, a few pics I took from Saturday. Ali has shares in Dunhelm Mill I reckon.
Thanks to Ali for bringing the Turbinator kit all the way north just for us to have a gander, this will be my turbine trainer and hopefully enable me to learn how to fly.

RE: Elvington Jet meet
Just got back from Elvington and wanted to say a big thanks to the elvington boys as I had a great weekend and their hospitality is amongst the best.
Good flying by everyone as there wasn't a single accident but I though it only right to mention a few - a young chap called Martin Ball who was flying a Bobcat and Bommerang XL very well and I was really shocked to find out that he has only been flying for under two years(shame he is emigrating to Australia). Also loved the three Mig 29's of Jeff Sewell, Ian Prentice and John MacNamara. Also great to see a F104 being well exercised by Scott. Of course have to also mention Ali as his flying was immaculate as ever and congrats also as he has completed all the A10 LMA flight tests under my watchfull eye.
Sorry No Photos as I am really s**t photographer but I am sure there will be some along soon.
Roll on Marham!
Geoff.

RE: Elvington Jet meet
I just wanted to thank everyone who came along this weekend for their support. Some people travelled great distances, but the pre order for the good weather really paid off. I said at the beginning that the main thing was to have fun and I think we acheived that. Thanks also to all the club members who mucked in and did the donkey work, especailly Martin for doing all the organising.
Its a shame we can't hold more of these, we would if the owners would let us.
Thanks all and see you at next year's event.
John

RE: Elvington Jet meet
Thanks to all for an enjoyable weekend, especially those who made a big effort and came from long distances, Geoff (superb Hunter and beautifully flown), Ali etc.
I had a great time if not a bit nerve jangling!
Amazing that so few incidents and all minor really. A big testament to the relibility of these jets (alright - apart from mine, having to land gear up on the grass just because the stupid linkage, fitted by the equally stupid builder - that'll be me then []).
Until next time then...
Jeff

I agree it's a shame we can't have more events like this, What a fabulous weekend it's being! Just gutted I couldn't fly due to a eye infection but still really enjoyed watching all the flying ! The icing on the cake for me was at the end of today's flying when Ali flew
Ian prentises fly eagle viper jet! The way he flew it made my hairs stand on end.Never seen Ian smile so much .

What a superb weekend! A massive thanks to the Elvington Jet club for all their efforts which meant we could all play in the sun. Non stop flying on a great runway in a nice location.... It does not get much better than that.
