Default Reaction X issue

Hey fellas, I'm finally getting around to assembling this jet that I've had NIB for months. Just started working on the front end and discovered after removing the hex bolt in the nose, that the nose cone will not come off. The seam with the fuse is nice and tight, as if glued. Anybody run into
this or have an idea how to get the thing off?

Thanks a bunch,

Tim

Hit it from side to side with the palm of your hand

yeah, I have held the joint over my thigh and smacked the nose pretty hard, rotating 360 to hit from all sides. Hopefully its just some stuck paint but not sure how to soften it without damaging the surrounding paint. I suppose its possible the nose was put on at the factory before the fuse paint was fully cured.

It will come off, just gently work it loose with light shock hits.

FYI, I've seen this problem one time.... Once you begin using/flying your Reaction, tighten the hex bolt LIGHTLY to secure the nosecone. It doesn't have to be cranked tight, if it's too tight, the fixed securing plate glued in the airframe's nose will break away.

... Just a few words of wisdom.

Thanks, I'll keep trying to knock it loose. Been hitting it pretty hard with an open hand.

I put the front end in the sun for a couple of hours, then whacked it a few times. Adhesive from the formers was on the mating surfaces of the cone and fuse. Luckily not a lot.

No big deal, just wasted time.

Thanks again,

Tim
