Default Mobil DTE Light Oil or similar

Has anyone got any experience of this oil being used in Turbines?

Do all the manufacturers recognise it as suitable for use in their turbines?

I understand that this oil is alot more environmentally friendly.

Where can it be purchased in the UK?

Are there similar oils we can use and are certified as suitable for use in Turbines by the manafacturers?

Thanks

Ian

A lot of us are using DTE light in our turbines without any problems, e-mail Roger the JMA sec and he should be able to give you details of a supplier.

I answered you post in the turbine thread, but for others in the UK: http://www.oil-store.co.uk/Mobil-DTE-Oil-Light-77.html halves the costs.

I have used it for many years, wren officially approves it, one of my super sports has clocked up 60 hours and is still on it's original bearings. If you feel 20 litres is too much then just share with a couple of friends. If we had decent weather you would get through 20litres fairly quickly!

There are about 7 of us here in Ohio, USA also using Pacemaker 32 from Citgo. We actually ordered a 55 gallon drum and split it up. It is the same as the Mobil DTE lite.

Think I'll just order 20 litres. Probably get through that at Jetpower in any case

I'd like to see you try and do that, 20L of DTE will make you 400 litres of fuel and at jet power you will be lucky to get two slots a day....

Make that 2 3minute slots, but maybe I am being too optimistic.

I usually get 20 litres at a time, surprising how you can get through it.

Show slots....yuck!

I have ran DTE light for years. Had 78 hrs on my Supersport before sending it n for service. Even after all that run time, the inside looked great!!!!

I have used it in 3 Wrens at 5% ratio.

My Supersport needed new bearings at about 20 hours but I
don't think it was an oil issue as my 44's have been fine.

I'll use it in my P-60 as well once it's out of warranty. - John.

I would like to see the manufacturers weigh in about this oil and weather it would void there warranties.

Well you are not going to get the green light from any manufacturer who markets their own tubine oil at twice the cost of DTE that's for sure.
