UPDATE
Gents, I tried, but I lost the battle on getting relief on overnight RV/camping. I wish I had better news.
So, the format of the event will be the same as last year. Trailers will be allowed to remain overnight. There will be a 40x40 tent, with space free to use on a first-come-first-serve basis. Personal pop-up tents are allowed, and may remain overnight as well.
I have been told we are having difficulty getting the website updated for 2012. So, do not use any of the links for pre-registering or for hotel reservations. The hotel reservation link in post #48 is good, though.

*** CRITICAL CHANGE ***
The Navy has back-tracked on me. We DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT have access to the field on Friday, 9 November! The "approved" dates are now Sat/Sun, 10/11 November. This change is unfortunate to say the least. For anyone who now will not come, please let me know ASAP. I am now trying to get a feel for attendance before I incur the cost of a big tent and porta-potty with no hope of covering this expense.
Gents, I do apologize for this change, but it is out of my hands. If this change is cause for anyone to decide not to come, I totally understand.

Well, I have sent basically a What-the-F??? email to the Navy, with a copy of the original email showing where we were "approved" for 9-11 Nov, from 0800-1700 each day. I asked why the change.
So either I'll get the day back, or piss them off and have them cancel the whole thing!

Very sorry to hear this. The NC jet gang was really looking forward to this one. Would be a first time event for us. Will keep options open just in case, but thats a long drive for one day of flying as I need Sunday to travel home.
Hope the Navy makes good on original offer. If not, hope event works out well for you guys.

Thats what we're shooting for dos. If all goes well, ''Jackie Sacks'' will be on the flight line spotting for me, and tracing wings for y'all

I haven't posted earlier, but even though this event may only be sat/sun, I think I am still going to attend. I want to hit the Naval Air Museum too, so I'll just do that on Friday. [8D] And if the event is cancelled, I will go to AZ Jets in Phoenix instead, the following week. [8D]

Guys, thanks for hanging in there! I appreciate the support. Now, for sure we are NOT cancelling. Worst case, we will fly Saturday and Sunday.
Right up front, I just got back from an early visit to Super Jet. Due to kids' football games tonight, tomorrow night, and Saturday, I went up Monday, flew Monday afternoon, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Got home today...hated to leave, but family first. Ok, so talking with the GA Jets buds Monday they told me the NC boys were coming, that you guys had changed vacation time to make it.
Let me say, I was humbled. Wow, guys are coming all the way from NC, even if it's just Sat/Sun! Well, come hell or high water, we're gonna do this. If nothing else, the plan would be to have a Holley Flyers "Open House" and any jet guy who wants to come guest fly, come on down! It might not be anything fancy, no big tents, Dreamworks trailers, or vendors (there will be a porta-potty so we don't have to take a whiz by the bumper of the truck), but we will fly at two big, intersecting, 3500'x150' runways and have a good time hanging out with the rc jet bubbas!
Thanks again for the support, gents...really.

Not much to update: The latest word is that Friday, 9 Nov, may still have a chance of being a "fly" day. From what I understand, this is not dead yet.
Now, I understand that these events are usually a Fri/Sat/Sun thing, but since the Federal holiday of Veteran's Day is on Monday, if that "off" day also fits in your schedule, consider making it to Pensacola Jets and let Saturday/Sunday be Friday/Saturday, so to speak, and Monday your "Sunday" travel-home day. Also, the field will be open on Monday for club flying, but any Pensacola Jets attendees are more than welcome to come out and fly.
The Naval Aviation museum on NAS Pensacola is not far away, and if you haven't been there in a while, it has changed and improved in a big way. That would make a great Friday 'event' in case we end up for sure not getting that day for rc flying.
Finally, there will be no registration/entry fee for Pensacola Jets this year. The Holley Flyers club is going to cover the cost of the potty. And with the uncertainty of the attendance level this year, we are going to skip having a large tent. We just can't absord that cost if we end up with low numbers. However, if a group wants a tent and will cover the cost themselves, let me know and I can coordinate with the tent rental company. Otherwise, bring your pop-ups or whatever you use for shade. As with last year, trailers will be allowed to remain on-site overnight.

No Registration Fees. Naval Air Museum close by. Great flying facility ( from everything Ive heard) Travel day on Monday, And a group of guys trying hard to put on an event we can all enjoy.
Hmmmmmmmm,,,, Whats not to like about that?
Ive seen what a buncha determined modelers can do when put to the challenge. I say we help these guys out and Bring It On!!!!!
Still,,,,,,,,,,,,,Keep trying to get Friday added back. Would just be a little more icing on the cake
While Im at it,,, Wife wants to know if any of you guys attending are interested in Jackie Sacks wing bags. She'll have all her tracing materials and fabric samples on site in case she doesnt have patterns already.
