Thanks for the weather reports, Rich! Headed to the field now to get set up. It sure does look like a great day in store for today: clear skies, no wind, 49 deg right now, 70 later!
Perhaps you can make it next year!
Cheers,
Randy

A great day at Pensacola Jets today!! The weather was perfect. We had 14 registered flyers, not too shabby given the on-again-off-again-on-again situation over the dates for the event. Hopefully more folks will show up tomorrow. I'll get some pictures posted when I get time.
Again, a big THANK YOU to those who have made the effort to attend and help us reestablish this event! I sincerely hope so far it has been worth making the trip!

Pensacola Jets 2012 is a wrap. We ended up with 16 registered pilots, 11 less than last year. Still, a good time was had by all. I suppose the up-side to the small turnout was that there was never a wait for takeoff, usually there was only one jet flying at a time, maybe two. It made for some relaxed flying and plenty of time to chat with everyone there.
Hopefully we'll get firm approval on the dates for next year (and know sooner rather than later), and thus more folks will be inclined to attend.
So, a big thank you to those who came (especially from a few states away!), to the Hampton Inn for the great facility and rate, and most of all to the Navy for allowing us to use the airfield.

We had a great time at the game, just wish it had been on a different weekend!
Yes, the Cougar is Pete's. He flew it beautifully on Sunday, especially impressive as the winds had picked up quite a bit. You'd sure never have known it by his landings...he painted that jet on to the runway, landed like a butterfly with sore feet!

Ron S great photos!
This is actually my favorite event all year. Two huge runways crossing in front of you, tons of flying time and first class friends.

One thing my camera can't do is take flying pics when you're going 199.9 mph! Derrick slowed down to below 195 when I got these shots of his Kingcat.

Great pics Ron & Randy! Enjoyed all the company and relaxed flying every day. The flightline was full of nice jets, and there were lots of spectators on Saturday. Thanks Randy & Rob for running things and big thanks to Steve R. for the 12X TX battery loaner - My weekend would've been toast without it!
