Jetcat p20 starter o-ring
hi all
i have a pretty new jetcat p20sx engine with 1hour 42 mins runtime on.
on the last start i noticed more of a noise when the starter motor was engaged and also when it was on cool down.
would this mean that the small rubber o-ring needs replacing on the starter already??
if so is it an easy job to do??
thanks

RE: Jetcat p20 starter o-ring
Mine was knackered in about the same time.
O rings are sized from the inside so you want a 2mm section with a 3mm hole (so 7mm OD) Viton by the way.
Undo the screws on the motor housing and lift the motor out and pick out the old O ring and shove the new one in.

P-20 is heavy on O rings, motors do vary as the P-20 pre-load also varies, tight motors that do not spin freely do eat them.
We keep a good stock of o rings

I would say that the O ring is possibly contaminated with fuel and needs cleaning rather than it being worn out.
