RE: SUPER JET SOUTH 2012
Thanks for all the positive comments guys! With about 70 pilots attending this year we seem to have found a “sweet spot†for non-stop flying but without delays for takeoff or overcrowded skies (most of the time)! Everybody got to pit somewhere along the runway and nobody was far from a startup area.
Thanks also to our sponsors (Jet Central, BVM, Dreamworks, FTE, Horizon, JPO and others), and all the talented and courteous pilots. Hope to see everyone again next year.

Thanks so much to Gordon, Mike, Joe, and the many GA Jets members who worked very hard to put on another great SJS event!! Well worth the 12 hour drive to spend time with friends and fly.
Beave: I have arranged for Father Guido Sarducci to be present next year during the tent set up. Hopefully that will rid us of Death Row!
Joe, The spot welds that hold the mounting tabs onto the tailpipe failed in air. Within a second or so, the tailpipe departed followed by the entire empennage.

RE: SUPER JET SOUTH 2012
What an awesome event!!!!!! Ditto what Boli said, and thanks so much to Gordon, Joe, Mike, Rusty, Craig, and ALL of the Georgia Jets gang for donating their time to provide us such a great event. For Jacqui and I its our un-wind time after putting on a big charity event here in NC, and offers us time to just Fly, Socialize, and enjoy Gordons ( aka Dr. Dickens) Secrete Brew! Georgia Jets has created one of the best flyers event on the map and we always take note to how they do it so we can continue to grow the "First in Flight" jet event in the right direction. ( as Mr. Pascoe will be able to testify to next year!!! ) Though I was part of Death Row this year, I still had an absolute GREAT TIME!
Can not thank you guys enough.
Todd and George,,,,,,,, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Having already seen this big rig hobby shop at our event, I was still blown away. I know I speak for all of us when I say thanks. Bringing such a huge line up of parts, supplies, and new to the market items right to our feet is certainly a first. Not only can we now fly at Disney World for Jets, but we have the coolest Gift Shop we could ask for! A+ for a job well done guys. Oh,,,, Let me know when you have more Full Grown, Man Size shirts in Todd! lol
Thanks to Eric Clapp for sponsoring an amazing dinner. The Saturday night banquet adds so much to the SJS event, and allows all of us to enjoy great fellowship with one another. Its awesome to look around the area and see everyone laughing, smiling, and telling jokes across the table. No matter how good, Or Bad of a flying day youve had, everyone is smiling on Saturday Night.
To all the award winners. Well Deserved!!!! The Georgia Jets staff certainly had a tough task at hand, but couldnt have made the selections it any better. Hats off to all of you.
Next year,,,??? Attend SJS ??? Hell To The YES!!!!! Without a doubt,,, A Must Attend Event! For anyone thats been thinking about hitting this one, think no more and grab your calendars NOW!!!!!
Had a blast guys. Jacqui and I will see you again next year.

OK, two winners. You both have to attend next year to claim your prize.

Now if I can just get the football leagues to put 'open' dates on SJS weekend...

Naw, Boli, you didn't ruin it. All my fault, should have been better prepared and done more checks on it! Oh well, we will find it - one way or another!

RE: SUPER JET SOUTH 2012
RBean2,
I need your help. You must have overlooked my pm. I need you to give me your thoughts on how deep you think your plane went in. Facing the runway, looking to your right, how far did it go? Some say as far as the dirt road. I don't see how it could have stayed up that long. I also need your thoughts as to how far from the driveway it may be. I realize that it may be difficult to relay that without being there, but any input from you would help.
We have one more week before hunting season starts and the woods will be off limits.
Thanks,
Joe

Here's a couple of shots. I know he was flying left to right when it went in. These two pictures may not show enough to point out where it went in.
Thanks

Beave
This may sound crude but the google map of the area is in high res I think so maybe that will help a bit. Used it to look at the field before the event and it was pretty detailed.
Just a thought...
